Sometimes your dream person is just around the corner — and sometimes they’ve been there all along. Casey and Whitney were friends for over 10 years before they even started dating! Whitney tells us she knew they had a special bond, but never dreamed they’d fall in love and start a family together. Alas, here we are: at C + W’s beautiful ranch wedding where they’re adorable 2-year-old son, Greyson, served as best man! The day was designed mostly by the bride, but it really all came together once they found their dream venue, a brand new ranch 20 minutes outside of Park City.
When we finally found our venue, it was like nothing I had seen on Pinterest, Instagram, anywhere. We are born and raised in San Diego but both have an affinity for the mountains. So getting married in the raw, beautiful elements of Utah was “it” for us. I had looked all over the Rocky Mountain Region (no joke!) and honestly never even thought of Utah. When we booked 4U Ranch, it was still under construction, but the location and surroundings were stunning. We knew once the barn was finished, there was no way we wouldn’t love it. So we booked it without seeing it first! Some might say that’s crazy, but it was fitting for our spontaneous lifestyle.
To capture the day in all its beauty, the couple called on Nicole Leever Photography. Let’s have a look!
LOVE THIS. Whitney wanted to gift her girls with something that was totally HER. She went with oversized band tees from Urban Outfitters for each girl to wear while they got ready!
Whitney knew she wanted minimal decor paired with an emphasis on the florals:
Our florist, Mandy from The Potted Pansy, exceeded my expectations beyond my wildest dreams. I had seen her work and after sharing my vision, I knew she was the one. I gave her full creative control because I knew she would create a dream and that’s exactly what she did. Not to mention, she is the sweetest soul and most amazing person to work with. I couldn’t have imagined our wedding day without her.
Classic-Meets-Carefree Bridal Style
You already know we LOVE Whitney’s Grace Loves Lace dress!

Loving this pose idea for the bridal party!
This is so sweet!!
Ceremony on the River
C + W were only the second couple to get married on the property! Pretty, special, right? The ceremony was set up right along the Weber River with this DREAMY backdrop.
So pretty!

The Barn Reception
The brand new barn created the indoor/outdoor feel that C + W wanted. Organic, but not too rustic. Natural and modern.
They kept the tables simple with black plates, gold silverware and grey velvet napkins with a few tall taper candles to set the mood.
The paper designs were created from templates by Amy Tarah Designs. Love these!
Gorgeous!
When it started pouring rain during dinner. Utah is known for its summer rainstorms and there was something about the way the thunder clouds rolled in over the valley, it really added to the mood. Honestly, I secretly hoped all along it would storm on our wedding day 😉 You could see the rain coming down through the glass ceiling on the barn and the big sliding doors. A handful of our guests ran outside and started dancing in the rain and the backdrop behind our sweetheart table looked like something out of a magazine!
We also got to share our wedding day with my Grandma Lyn’s 90th birthday so we made sure to make her feel extra special on such a huge milestone. We surprised her by having the entire wedding sing “Happy Birthday,” followed by a dance with the groom to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra.
King and queen right here. What a dreamy sweetheart table!
Keep it fun and light and don’t sweat the small stuff. Stay in the moment with your fiancé throughout the planning process and remember what the day is all about.
Such a beautiful day! Congrats to Casey + Whitney from all of us at GWS!
