California-Cool Coastal Wedding with Leopard Print Bridesmaids

Planning

Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm Wedding

Bryan + Kacy are Santa Barbara locals and surfers, so of course, their day was going to be filled with lots of California-cool details! A coastal ceremony with punches of rad moments like leopard print bridesmaids dresses and a red convertible getaway car made for a rather dreamy day. Here’s more about the overall wedding vibe from Kacy:

Bryan is my best friend, so planning was stellar because we got to experience something so unknown to each other. I think our day felt like “us” because we truly did it together. We wanted everyone to have a good time and live in the moment. We focused a lot of time on food choices and vibe. Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm is a spectacular property with so much to explore and that added something special to the day. Our guests were shuttled from the harbor to the farm and I don’t think anyone really knew what to expect which made it pretty whimsical. Bryan really trusted my style and we collaborated on every aspect, from florals to colors down to playlists. The wild-card leopard bridesmaid dresses complemented our textures and really tied everything together.

With design + planning by Wild Heart Events, B + K’s vision came to life! And Jodee Debes was on hand to capture it all. Let’s have a look!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Kacy:
For me, it was a combination of two moments. Waiting in the car with my dad about to be driven to the altar, and then standing in front of Bryan under the pampas grass arch. The start of the day had been so much fun and somewhat of a whirlwind – getting ready with all my closest girlfriends, bumping to the venue in the bus and first looks, plus photos with the whole gang. Idling in the shade with my faja brought everything into hyper-focus and I was thinking, “This is it.” I was nervous and twiddling my vows in my hands so by the time I got to the altar with Bryan, the paper I had written them on was a tiny ball. Our dog Copper did her chatting woof which made me laugh and relax – the rest came easy. Looking at Bryan while I read my vows I felt a wave of calm – everything faded, and I only saw and heard him.

Bryan:
There are a couple of moments I’ll never forget. Standing under the pampas grass alter on the bluffs a coastline so special to Kacy and me while watching her come down the aisle took my breath away. Also, looking out on our family and friends gathered to celebrate with us was truly an amazing moment.

Here’s an idea we LOVE: B + K brought in Chris Potter Art to do a live painting of the ceremony scene.

After the ceremony, Bryan drove the couple to the reception in his family’s red vintage Mercedes convertible. GOOD move.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Stay true to yourself and remember that everyone is there to celebrate your love. We were so lucky to have Jaime rooting for us and taking care of all the wedding details we had no idea existed. Day-of we kept feeling the love. All the little ways that friends and family showed up meant the world. Don’t sweat the little things and don’t think that you need to spend a ton of money to make the day memorable. We had spent a lot of time communicating with everyone who put the day together and trusted them all which took the stress away. I still feel as though I don’t have the words to properly express how thankful we both are.

When others say it goes by in a flash, they aren’t fibbing. It was an all-day event but felt like it was ending before it began. Bryan and I were some of the last people at the Orchid Farm after everyone had gone home and it felt surreal. We had a moment together, looking up at the moon, that was transcendent. Santa Barbara is such a special place for both of us and we were stoked to share it with loved ones.

Such a dream day. All our congrats to Bryan + Kacy!
