Let’s be honest here. One of the most exciting parts of getting married is re-living it all after the wedding! It’s why we put such a huge priority on photographers and videographers and it’s why the wedding hashtag is a thing—you don’t want to miss a moment! You’re going to get some amazing images from the pros, but if you have an “irrational fear” that you’ll miss out on great candid photos because you can’t collect your wedding guests’ photos, there’s a solution for that. (Not at all irrational, btw.)
Gathering photos from your guests is totally worth the effort. Aside from capturing different angles and moments from the day, you can get the photos almost immediately while you not-so-patiently wait for the final collection from your photographer. The thing is, guests need an easy entry—and of course, we have your answer! It’s a simple service called WedUploader and before we go any farther let us tell you three important things: it’s free, it’s easy, and you’ll own all the high-res images.
Amazing? WE KNOW. Here’s how to use WedUploader to make it a no-brainer for you + your guests:
1. Create a Free Account
When you create an account with WedUploader, you give access to your Google Drive. If you don’t have an email account with Google, you’ll need to create one. We actually think it’s a great idea to create an email address specifically for your wedding. You can use it to stay organized with RSVPs, registries, newsletters, and any and all wedding business.
2. Organize + Personalize
Once you’re linked up, you can create as many folders as you want to collect photos! Organize them by event: Wedding Shower, Bachelorette Party, Wedding Day, etc. For each folder you create, you’ll have a specific link to share with guests. All they have to do is follow the link, drop in their photos, and that’s it!
WedUploader also gives you the option to upload an image to the landing page so for that extra little bit of personalization. (Another great place to utilize those engagement photos!)
3. Share with Guests
WedUploader works on every device through every browser — all you need is a link! No app, no login. It’s how you share that link that will really make it effective.
Once you create your folders, WedUploader will give you a link. We suggest two options to make that link easy to access for everyone from savvy millennials to your darling grandmother!
- Create a memorable link with Bitly: If you haven’t used Bitly it’s (again) SO easy. Once you create a free account you can type in your given link and edit the back half to make it meaningful and easy to remember.
- Create a QR code with QR Code Monkey: Guest can scan the code with their camera and it will take them directly to your WedUploader link!
Once you have your links you can share them via emails to guests, on your wedding website, social media, and around your wedding venue. Print the QR code on the back of the program or menu — get creative!
4. Collect Your Wedding Guests Photos!
Now, head over to your Google Drive and you’ll see all the folders just waiting to be filled. You own all the photos and they sit in your own personal Drive rather than on an app somewhere. There is no hidden cost to download high-res versions—it really is totally free! And there are no upload limits as long as you have space on your Drive (Google gives you 15MB for free which is more than enough). You’ll receive every picture and video in its original quality!
Once guests upload an image, you’ll receive an email notification. And from there, the fun really beings. Get started with WedUploader and enjoy the memories from every lens!
