Think desert pastels, boho florals, a totally unique wedding dress, jello shots and tons of cheese! Those are just some of the incredible details of Sarah + Joe’s outdoor wedding at Villa Royale. With the help of event planners Details, Darling, S + J treated their guests to a full weekend of festivities which started with tacos and ice cream on the hotel’s rooftop and ended with an impromptu pool party after the wedding reception.
S shares more about how they started the celebrations off right:
Our wedding weekend still feels like a dream. Friday night we opted to have a welcome party rather than a rehearsal dinner since we had so many guests from out of town. If you’re hosting a whole weekend of activities, we can’t recommend doing this enough!! Getting to socialize and make the rounds on Friday made Saturday a true love fest and allowed us to spend time together, enjoying everything we had been planning for.
Can’t wait to look through the lens of The Zamudios? Let’s go!!
S + J chose a pastel color palette for their day which was featured on paper goods designed by State of Reverie with calligraphy by Double Dipped Calligraphy.
The Bride
S opted for the cutest flirty ponytail and warm bridal makeup look styled by Kacee Geoffroy.
She looked perfectly effortless in this STUNNING Rue de Seine gown from The Dress Theory San Diego!! Want a unique look on wedding day? Going floral is always a good choice!
Perfect Weather
This is the stuff outdoor wedding dreams are made of!!
Such a classy group!!
The Groom
J was rocking classically handsome attire from The Black Tux. Loving the tropical bow tie!
What better way to keep the vibes light and airy than by putting your girls in off-white?? These Show Me Your Mumu dresses were an excellent choice S!!
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
The decor, the backdrop, the day… Total Perfection!! We are loving these coral pedestals and pampas grass arrangements!
Speaking of decor, Layered Vintage outdid themselves with this stunning ceremony arch! Painted palms, natural and pink pampas grass, roses and babies breath are total boho floral goals!!
Take a Shot!
Shots before the ceremony? So fun!!
I am obsessed with making Jello Shots, so we greeted guests at the ceremony with their view own jello shots to start the party displayed on the cutest custom cart by Details, Darling. Also, Joe + I both love music and happened to meet at a bar in Chicago, so Aubrey tied our personal story into the cutest, pastel seating chart displayed with spray painted pink vinyls and a velvet record player exploding with flowers.
Our search for an outdoor venue worked out better than we could have imagined, with the event space at Villa Royale giving us the ability to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all on the same lawn.
Newly Wed and Ready to Party
Seriously, these two are such a fun couple!!
It can’t be a Palm Springs wedding without a retro-style photoshoot!
Lawn Party
This is what an outdoor wedding is all about!
Say Cheese!
If there’s one thing we love, it’s definitely cheese!!
I used to work at a cheese store and it was always my dream to have a big, over the top grazing table at my wedding, and my best friends (who I met working at the cheese store) made that happen. Taking a bite out of a wedge of Humboldt Fog in my wedding dress was literally a dream come true.
Is a grazing table on your must-have list?? Check out this round up of incredible grazing tables for some major inspiration!
Outdoor Wedding Reception
Absolutely loving this set up with furniture from Yeah Rentals and lighting from Signature Party Rentals!
The prettiest pastel florals we ever did see!
These minimalist boho tablescapes featured tabletop rentals from Signature Party Rentals, La Tavola Fine Linen, and Hostess Haven.
Floral clouds? Always a good idea!
We love a good interactive wedding reception and this photobooth from Traveling Photobus is adorable!!
Miho Catering churro bites?? Don’t mind if we do!
Sarah + Joe, thanks for sharing your fun and colorful outdoor wedding day with us! Congratulations from the GWS team!!
