If there’s one thing we know it’s that couples who love to travel will always find a way to mix inspiration from their adventures into the big day! Carlos + Melanie prove just that with their mix of travel and culture in a day that recalls the bustle of Morocco as much as it does quiet coastal nights. Here’s a little insight from Mel:
We travel frequently along the Andalusian coast. Sometimes we meet up with friends to camp in an abandoned cove where only the sea, our tent, and guitar accompany us. On one of our trips, we visited the Alhambra in Granada and Carlos asked me to marry him. It was truly magical amidst the Andalusian-style palaces and gardens. Perfect for us!
Prior to the wedding, they took a trip to Morocco where they gathered all in the inspiration (and a few necessary items) for a day that mixed the charm of Morocco with Andalusian culture. Eventos Clandestine helped design + plan the day at their “perfect” venue located in the middle of a mountain, Casa Rural Bernabé.

Boho Bridal Look
The bridal bouquet by Flores de Bohemia was a floral work of art, combining garden roses, carnations, pampas, dried leaves, and homegrown irises.
Mel wore an Otaduy embroidered tulle dress with flared sleeves and, in true gypsy style, large hoop earrings. Her friend Sara Seguí gave her a pretty loose braid and smoky eyes.
Carlos chose a light ocher linen suit by Massimo Dutti paired with a fedora a fun polka dot tie!

Ceremony with Dried Palm Decor + Moroccan Influence
The floral designs by Flores de Bohemia were a lovely setup against the large centennial oak trees! They used a variety of dried palm leaves, pink roses, orchids, and anthuriums.
And then there’s this: an aisle of dried palm leaves! AMAZING.
Rugs and cushions were placed on the ground next to the trees, along with rustic wooden benches and antique wrought iron chairs to match the Moroccan influence.
For us, it was essential that the ceremony was something very personal. A ritual full of promises and where all our friends collaborated. The reading by my sister was really emotional. Since we all grew up with my grandmother and my father, she is like a mother and who has always been by our side supporting us.
Music has a special meaning to M + C. During the ceremony, a Spanish guitar played alongside a flamenco singer as a special surprise to Carlos.
Yay!
A Moroccan-inspired Wedding Reception
The venue had an old cellar which was transformed into a full souk! Cozy corners were created for eating, smoking shisha, or listening to live flamenco and reggae.
Eventos Clandestine designed tents with scarves and fabrics that hung from the ceiling alongside fringed lamps (made by Mel!) and Moroccan lanterns, poufs, rugs, tables, and low chairs.
A total transformation!
Getting married is an amazing experience. Even more so when you decide to celebrate it your way and share it with your family and friends. Also, hiring the services of Eventos Clandestine was decisive in carrying out everything we wanted to make our wedding unique and ours. We advise future couples to hire a wedding planner — they know what they are doing.
