Shh…can you hear that? It’s the mesmerizing spirit of Hawaii calling you to this tropical boho wedding inspiration. From painted tropical leaves to Hawaiian-infused wedding cake, to a boho bride cheering aloha to the queen – this editorial has details that are sure to charm you.
With that assistance of MCL Coordination, Carol Oliva Photography styled the day, and shares the inspiration behind these designs: it was all about combining playful, tropical hues with neutral textures amidst a lush jungle landscape. We played with dry palms and painted florals, a combination of tropical-vintage vibes with lush bohemian styling. For the color palette, we chose to integrate bright hues of dusty aqua, sherbet pink, saffron, punchy rust + warm canvas.
The captivating spirit of Hawaii is all around this wedding inspiration! Let’s dive into some photos captured by Carol Oliva:
The Spirit of Hawaii Invites You
Tropical Ceremony Triangle
Just the coolest ceremony set up! If you look closely, you can see the full carnation lei around the hanging shell chandelier.
How rad is locally foraged decor? La Flor Events chose to first forage what’s local to the area, which only greater showcases the beauty of tropical Hawaii. Additionally, she hand-painted leaves + flowers, later contrasting the vibrant hues with other neutral textures and shapes. We love the integration of florals that are already bright like pink, hanging heleconias + king protea!

She’s a Hawaiian goddess, right?! This is the first of two dresses from Epiphany Boutique Carmel. We’re loving the long, white kaftan look – serving boho chic vibes.
Aloha To The Queen
If this setup doesn’t make you want to book a flight to Hawaii, we don’t know what would. 1979 Hawaii provided custom cocktails for the boho tropical celebration! Mai Tais and Aloha to the Queen! Plus, all the wood from the bar were rough cuts from Hawaiian earpod trees. So rad!
Painted florals double as the perfect media for fresh signage! The tropical-inspired invitation suite and calligraphy were done by Phoenix Feathers Calligraphy. The invitation suite also matches the handmade vow books – and it’s not lost on us! We love a cohesive feel 🙂
Painted Palms + Bohemian Vibes
Barefoot + In Love
And this beautiful boho embroidery wedding dress is another gorgeous look!
Reception Under The Big Island Stars
Are you as obsessed with those hanging lanterns as we are? We love when couples get really creative with hanging installations at their weddings!
These colors are so cool – an aqua blue runner with neutral plate settings from Ambient Rentals + mustard napkins…amazing boho combos!
A table set up fit for a Hawaiian king + queen!
A Flower Petal Cake With Hawaiian Infusions
A tropical stunner! The wedding cake has pops of colorful petals from Sugar and Poi, a local vegan bakery that specializes in traditional baked goods with Hawaiian influence.
Anyone now planning their destination wedding to Hawaii? Mahalo, friends.
