Remember when we said dried palms were the latest wedding flower trend? Well Jorie + Devin took it to a new level by pairing dried palms with grasses, protea and botanical plants. Add in some fun tribal print linens and a modern color palette of amber, cappuccino, black and white and you have a bohemian, botanical wedding to inspire! With the help of Art and Soul Events, J + D stayed true to themselves and their style for their day at The Ruby Street. The couple’s photographer shared this about their inspiration:
Picking a date closest to their actual anniversary they wanted to stay wholly authentic to themselves and create a relaxed botanical modern wedding with flares of tradition. Focusing on ferns, wildflowers, pompous grass, and tropical leaves to bring about a truly unique botanical ceremony. They also reinvented traditions to create space that captured their spirit, style, and soul.

Modern Neutrals
First up is floral! Foxtail Florals designed the flowers for the day and we’re loving the modern take on a neutral color palette. With blooms like protea, golden rain tree pods, bleached ruscus, dahlias and ranunculus, there’s so much texture to draw in your eye!
The Stylish Couple
We’re obsessed with this sweet couple’s sense of style! J’s Dreamers + Lovers gown is covered with the most stunning crochet lace and her Stephanie Witter hair and Nicol Artistry Makeup plays up her classic beauty. D looked like the perfect modern groom in his The Black Tux attire.
Dried Botanical Wedding Ceremony
The ultimate modern ceremony setup! J + D had the space looking very on-trend with sleek wooden bistro chairs and a stunning arch featuring massive dried palms, fluffy grasses and adorable hanging planters.
So much lushness!! We’re loving these tones when they’re paired with wood and brass!
Let’s Get Married by Marie officiated their authentic ceremony that honored their individual lives and their journey together. What brought these two lovebirds to LA?
Devin and Jorie are both a couple of LA transplants. Jorie moved to LA to work in the nonprofit sector as she is passionate about uplifting underprivileged communities. Devin moved to LA to work in film and entertainment, hoping to add to a more diverse perspective of storytelling.
Processional: In My Life – The Beatles
Recessional: This Must Be The Place – Talking Heads
First Dance: Harvest Moon by Neil Young
Weddings get very expensive, very fast. Don’t bother to do anything or purchase anything that isn’t authentic to you as a couple!
Geometric Patterns
In addition to family style seating, J + D brought intimate table centerpieces, fun accents of geometric shapes and unexpected prints to the decor. As a result, they created a fresh take on the boho, botanical wedding reception!
La Piñata Party Rentals brought in gold flatware, black and white tribal runners, and the coolest pottery and planters for an eclectic and global feel.
Seriously, this tablescape is divine!!
Simply Stated LA created sleek and minimalist paper goods to balance the rich patterns and textures of the wedding decor.
Congratulations Jorie + Devin! Your botanical wedding in LA featured such rad, modern details and an unexpected take on the boho aesthetic! We’re wishing you guys a life full of love and adventure! -The GWS Team
