If there’s anyone who knows how to throw a party, it’s Jenny of Forrest and J! And now we can confidently say that Jenny is also the master when it comes to knowing how to host a social distancing party. See for reference: this birthday-combined-baby-shower party that just happens to be for Jenny herself!
Complete with fun activities, brilliant food + drink ideas, and the cutest gift bags – every little detail was gorgeous AND safe for social distancing.
Let’s get into all the details and some majorly helpful tips to help you plan your own social distancing party. Below, we’ve got photos from Cyd Weeks Photography!
How do you throw a social distancing party?
First things first, the phrase “social distancing party” TOTALLY sounds like a bummer. So when you’re putting it out there to friends, let them know it’ll be a safe event, but it’ll also be FUN. The best way to show and not tell? A ridiculously rad setup like this one!
Social Distancing Party Drinks
The best way to go about drinks it to either have one person serving or make individual glasses for pick up. Guests at Jenny’s day helped themselves to frosé at this cute set-up by The Typsy Gypsy Bar. There were also DIY sangria kits!
A Colorful Tablescape
Um, hello!! CUTE!
Love the tie-dye details which will also come into play later…
A little personalization goes a LONG way. Midnight Confetti designed all the signage, table vinyl placemats, and acrylic details. The vinyl placemats are SO cool.
And those florals? Lovestruck Blooms brought the color game strong with dried blooms in bright + bold pinks and reds for Jenny alongside soft blues as a subtle nod to the little baby boy on the way.
The Cutest Social Distancing Party Food Idea
People, wait until you see what’s inside those boxes that Morning Lavender Cafe whipped up…
How perfectly adorable?! Afternoon Tea to-go boxes! This is a brilliant idea — COVID times or not!
Another simple party tip to encourage social distancing: set the scene! Renting pieces to create little vignettes for small groups can bring the party to a whole new level and help alleviate congregating. Archive Rentals provided the amazing furniture for Jenny’s day!
How to Make a Custom Tie-Dye Station
So, what can you do at a social distancing party? You. Can. Tie-Dye!!
Leuca Vintage created a tie-dye station for guests to get creative together. (You should also know that there were hip hop step aerobics! What kind of awesome birthday/baby shower is this?!)
Goodie bags were custom dip-dyed with matching tie-dye ribbons including acrylic name tags for each guest.
Hey, cutie birthday girl!
All the Sweets
Because a party becomes a celebration with you throw in a little sugar!
That dried fruit bark from KH Desserts! Can we get a tutorial?!
A sweet cake for mother + son — and the perfect ending to this beautiful day! A very happy birthday + congratulations to Jenny! Thank you for sharing your rad social distancing party that almost kinda feels like a normal celebration…we can dream 🙂
