When you think Autumn in Vermont, what are the first things that come to mind? Beautiful views, colorful foliage, cozy fireplaces and intimate evenings with close loved ones? We thought so!! That’s exactly how to describe Kristen + Will’s wedding in Vermont at the Marble House Project. Combining classic New England aesthetics with quirky and artistic details, they teamed up with planners Ehmann Events to create a modern wedding day that perfectly honors their adventurous relationship. K shares more about their inspiration:
Our favorite place inspired our wedding palette and sensibility: Fall in Vermont. I’ve spent time with my family in the Green Mountains for my whole life, and Will fell in love with Vermont after studying at Middlebury. It’s also where we plan to relocate full-time to raise a family (leaving Brooklyn behind!) The natural white marble quarries of Southern Vermont, in the woods, kept us anchored. We knew we wanted natural colors with architectural clean lines. Down-to-earth food, with beautiful tablescapes to serve it on, were a major priority once we got into the planning details.
Lindsay Hackney Photography captured the details beautifully. Scroll along with us and let’s take a look!
The Perfect Venue for a Wedding in Vermont
K + W’s wedding venue was a crucial part of their wedding equation. It’s equal parts cozy, historic, and meaningful. We’ll let K tell you more:
We discovered the Marble House Project during one winter “off” that we lived in Vermont, between lives in Chicago and New York City. Marble House Project is an artist residency that hosts creatives from around the world who perform or present their work to the community. We knew immediately we wanted to celebrate our commitment to one another at such a special non-profit to us, and we love that our event helped support their mission.
Not Your Average Wedding Dress
Our mouths literally dropped open when we saw K in her glorious Andrew GN gown. The motif of green flowers on a background of pale blush is so unique, and the heavy fabric looks perfect to keep her warm on a cool Autumn night. As you know, we love Wedding Dresses With Color, so this dress has stolen our hearts! K kept things elegant with hair and makeup by Stella’s Salon Plus. She shares:
Will and I had been a part of each other’s lives for eight years by our wedding day. The traditional all-white dress can symbolize a clean slate or blank canvas; when I thought about what I wanted our wedding ceremony to represent for me, I wanted to acknowledge the adventure-filled life we’d already spent years building together and celebrate our life ahead. I only considered colorful prints because I wanted a party dress!
Lush Wedding Flowers
As K said herself, Nectar and Root perfectly balanced New England style with modern, minimalist design. This all white bridal bouquet is the perfect example of that with white dahlias, zinnias, scabiosa and snowberry.
W chose a neutral suit that perfectly complemented K’s floral gown. We can thank Suit Supply and Dazi for his dapper groom’s attire.
Simple Ceremony for This Wedding in Vermont
Can you believe the Groom’s mother, who owns Verdant View, is to thank for the beautiful ceremony decor? Love!!
Can we take a second to appreciate the Fall colors in that background view?! Stunning! For her Autumnal ceremony, K chose a light and flowing Siren Sais veil.
The Newlyweds
This cozy newlyweds cabin is what New England Autumn dreams are made of!
An Intimate Reception for this Wedding in Vermont
Though they kept things crisp and white for the ceremony, K + W brought in warm Fall color to the reception. Vermont Tent Company and Classical Tents were responsible for the furniture and specialty rentals respectively.
BorrowedBLU provided the place setting rentals, including those fab quilted napkins!!
Elli Design Studio created all of the papergoods for K + W’s day. We love how they kept everything clean and minimal so that the colors of the decor really pop!
Doesn’t this tablescape give you all the Fall warm fuzzies?!
K + W wanted a farm to table feel at their reception, and Vermont Farms Catering did not disappoint. They brought in pig roast tacos (a family tradition for K + W) and this yummy and rustic naked cake adorned with berries.
The perfect mix of modern style and classic comfort. Congratulations Kristen and Will! Your cozy and colorful wedding in Vermont was styled to perfection! The GWS team is wishing you both many more adventures to come!
