Nature was calling, so Anna + Keaton answered! When Covid-19 made a large wedding with their friends and family impossible, this adventurous couple decided to plan a secret elopement wedding in the mountains near their home. With the help of planner, Jessie McNaught, they styled a gorgeous first look at their private home. (the couple’s horse, Stella, stole the show!) Then they climbed into a helicopter and headed up to a glacier on Ipsoot Mountain in Pemberton, British Columbia. After the vow exchange, they headed back down to their farm for a private newlywed dinner. We’ll let them share more about why an elopement was perfect for them:
We always thought we were going to have a big farm wedding here at home, but with having Anna’s family in Sweden and Keaton’s in Alberta made a big wedding impossible to plan and arranged now during this pandemic. The decision to do a local elopement here at home was made 4 weeks before we got married, and it was a big relief for us both that we now can focus on us and our ceremony instead of worrying about pandemics and crowds of people. The elopement was very smooth to plan, and it turned out absolutely perfectly. A dream wedding for both of us.
The couple’s big tip for other elopement planners is to hire a talented photographer to catch every moment. Lucky for us, Logan Swayze was there to capture these breathtaking shots. Let’s go!
First Look on the Farm
The first look was already a fairy tale moment as A rode in on her beloved American Paint Horse, Stella.
Sweetest Family Photo!
A + K were all about the earthy, bohemian vibes, so Catherine Karpman designed with lots of texture and pampas grass. We even spy a few feathers in the decor!
A looked every bit the boho bride with golden makeup and braided waves by Kerry Waring.
Adventure Elopement Wedding in the Mountains
Keaton loved seeing Anna riding in on her Stella horse for first look. And of course being able to fly with the helicopter (even though it was so close to be canceled due to heavy wildfire smoke) up to the glacier where we got married as like a movie, we almost had to pinch ourselves! And to have such a beautiful supper under our apple tree… it was just “wow”. And it was so worth it splurging on a very fancy cake just for us! We kept enjoying it for several days after haha 🙂
Jeremy Postal officiated the ceremony of a lifetime. Just look at that view of the glacier in the background! Absolutely Stunning!!! See 25 Other Jaw Dropping Places to Elope here!
We can feel the love!
Elopement Wedding Dress
A’s head-to-toe lace gown from Reclamation was perfect for a mountain wedding!
These views cannot be real!
Elopement Reception at Home
A + K headed back home for an intimate elopement wedding reception complete with farm table furniture, charcuterie boards, and a champagne toast!
We loved getting married in complete secret and to only focus on each other and what we wanted to do. It was a very sacred and beautiful way to get married! And much simpler. But make sure to bring both a photographer and a film maker! We love being able to share our day (photos and video) with our family and friends, and to be able to watch it ourselves and remember how beautiful and special the day was. So yes, elope if you are thinking about it! It was the best decision we could have made! We are so happy with everything! A dream wedding!
The Flour Pot crafted the perfect little cutting cake to celebrate the newlyweds!
Congratulations Anna + Keaton! Thank you for showing couples everywhere that plans change and evolve, but you can still have a gorgeous wedding that celebrates what is truly important! We know your intimate elopement wedding will inspire so many others to plan their own sweet adventures!
