Welcome to the first edition of our newest wellness series! In a similar story to the beginning of Links + Loves, we found ourselves sharing our favorite finds (specifically favorite wellness products) with one another. The last year put self-care and wellness at the forefront more than ever. It’s one good thing that 2020 gave us that we’re not mad about! We’ve taken wellness matters into our own hands, from perfecting our at-home facials to finding the mental health benefits that exist in simply interlocking a puzzle piece.
Today, we’re excited to share the wellness products that we tried and loved in February! We know everything isn’t for everyone, but we hope you’ll find something new that supports your own wellness journey!
Skincare + Makeup: At-Home Facials, Peels, and Masks
My current skincare fave is The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This super-popular product is a chemical exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin cells and leaves your skin ga-lowing. It’s a little stingy, but that’s normal. It’s good for at-home facials because it just works—and at $7.20, the price can’t be beat. —Britt
Who else is rockin’ the barely-there make-up these days? I like just enough to feel like a person, but not so much that it’s a struggle to take off at night. I’ve been wearing Ilia’s Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara on and off for a month. It makes my lashes look full and not clumpy and it comes off easily. I got the trial size and I’ll definitely be upgrading. —Britt
I love trying different cleansers and this new (to me) brand is a winner! Three Ships is a clean brand that is now carried at Target (they are really stepping up their skincare brands!) Their Refresh Cleanser is foamy, smells so good and is perfect for combination/oily skin. I’ve been using it the past 3 weeks and I can definitely see results. — Jen
I think I have chronic chapped lips. Something in my hormones changed after having kids and nothings has made my lips lipstick-ready like Laniege’s Lip Sleeping Mask. I’m a forever fan! —Britt
Body butter is as soothing as it sounds, especially this Buffy Bar from Lush Cosmetics. You will NOT stop feeling your skin after you rub this on + rinse off. It’s smooth, buttery magic for your sad winter skin. —Danielle
I’ve been doing at-home facials for a year now, and the key player in my routine is this Burt’s Bees detoxifying charcoal sheet mask. Being cruelty, paraben, and phthalate-free, it’s as close to a natural facial as you can get. —Danielle
OK, yes—I’m very proud of my at-home facials and this portable facial humidifier LITERALLY elevates my regimen with a veryyy near-spa experience. It’s magic. —Danielle
For Your Mental Health: “Nail” the Cute Puzzles
Do you know how to paint your nails? No, but really? This month I’ve been tuning into Olive & June’s IGTV and there is just a lot I didn’t know. They teach you how to shape correctly, get your cuticles healthy, and paint without pooling at the bottom. Painting my nails has given me a reason to slow down and be present—just as good for my mind and mood as it is anything else. Plus, the O&J polish can’t be beat. And the nail file will change your life. You can get all the goods at Target. —Brittany

One of my favorite things for mental health is journaling – and I know I’m not alone! Spending a few minutes each morning jotting down memories, thoughts, goals and more is such a great way to start your day – and our JUST LAUNCHED vegan leather softbound Sunset Blooms notebook is the PRETTIEST book to journal in. (Also great for weekly to-do lists!) —Jen
I wish I was better at meditation, but I just can’t get there yet. However, one thing I do to quiet my mind is color! I recently bought this inspirational coloring book and love it! —Jessi
My family and I have been doing puzzles the past 8 months and it’s such a great way to destress…we always have a puzzle out on one of our tables and we just sit down and work on it when we need a break from the internet and life …. grab a glass of wine and it’s where you’ll find us typically before dinner! This Flower Puzzle is such a cool shape and we also just completed this Mystic Maze Magic Puzzle which has a fun surprise at the end!
Physical Care: Move, Hydrate, Sleep
There’s nothing that motivates me to work out like a brand new pair of tennis shoes. I’m about to repurchase these because I love them so much! —Jessi
Don’t drink enough water? These bottles with timed-goals seem like a good way to help (thanks to a friend for sharing!). —Katie
And of course, the one thing I always try to do is get 8 hours of sleep! I have the “bedtime” reminders set on my phone to start warning me 1 hour before I want to sleep that I should start getting ready for bed. It’s the little things that help! —Katie (indulge a little with a silk sleep mask)
Favorite Nutrition Find: Green Dream
Philosophie Green Dream is my current fave superfood blend for smoothies. I love making a smoothie every morning and have been making the same one for a few years. I mixed it up last month and this is my new fave smoothie! So easy. Just add a cup of almond milk, half a frozen banana, 4-5 frozen strawberries, a scoop of Green Dream, a tablespoon of almond butter, and blend. So yummy. The blend’s star ingredient, spirulina, is an antioxidant-rich, blue-green algae that is packed with nutrients including iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, selenium, chromium, vitamin B-12, and protein. By feeding your cells only the best, Green Dream makes staying healthy and fit easy…just like a dream! —Jen
Home Wellness: A Non-Toxic Cleaning Kit from Target
I’ve been using natural products to clean my house for a long time now and nothing checks the boxes like Casabella’s Infuse products at Target. Affordable, non-toxic, aesthetically pleasing, earth-friendly, and intuitive. I think the cleaning caddy and microfiber cloths are essential, then stock up on concentrates. The entire system makes cleaning my home simple and enjoyable. —Britt
