Miss Bush: 11 Real Brides who Found Their Wedding Dresses at one of the Best UK Bridal Boutiques

Ideas

I’ve been running Love My Dress now for 14 years. In fact, it was only last month that I published my first ever wedding blog, way back in November 2009, the same year I got married myself.

So much has happened since then. Trends, styles and fashions have come and gone. Social media has impacted our lives in ways we couldn’t have imagined back then – the social media landscape itself has changed so much in the last five years alone. But throughout my personal wedding blogging, entrepreneurial and bridal fashion loving journey, there has been a something and someone who have remained beautifully constant throughout. The something is Miss Bush, a beautiful bridal boutique located in Ripley, Surrey – and the someone is the woman and powerhouse behind it, Emma Marshall.

Finding not just a good, but a really bloody great bridal boutique to visit as you set out to find your wedding dress, is key. I’m loyal in my support of bridal boutiques and loathe how they (and the wedding industry in general) tend to receive shockingly poor support from mainstream media, whose obsession with using weddings to fill column space with cliched stories of bank-breaking, planet-wrecking celebrations, is unhealthy. Most boutiques I know are run by talented and hard working teams, who are passionate about helping women feel they’re most beautiful and confident on their wedding day. It’s just that, some of these boutiques truly are exceptional – and Miss Bush is a leader amongst them.

Today, I’m sharing images from 10 brides who found their bridal gowns and separates at Miss Bush, each of whom found visiting this boutique and being supported by Emma and her team, a hugely positive, memorable and rewarding experience.

By the way, none of the eleven brides quoted in this article were asked to provide glowing reviews for Miss Bush for the purpose of this article. In fact, none of them knew we were publishing this article at all. They shared these raves voluntarily when completing our usual wedding questionnaire – the one we issue to all brides whose weddings we share on Love My Dress. I do believe this speaks volumes, authentically so, for the excellent service and incredible level of support provided by this brilliant bridal boutique.

Lucy in Jesús Peiró

Lucy and Philip’s August 2021 wedding was held in London. The couple’s modern and contemporary wedding day combined ‘wildflower meadow’ inspiration with a rich deep green and white colour palette.

For her cool, modern bridal look, Lucy selected a structured gown from Jesús Peiró. Over the strapless gown with its full, pocketed skirt and sexy split, she layered a boxy, cap-sleeved crop top.

I knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress. I had a simple halter-neck style in mind but couldn’t find anything that was quite right. I liked a lot of Jesús Peiró’s designs so booked an appointment with its main UK stockist, Miss Bush, knowing I had to make a decision that week. The store’s managing director Emma helped end my indecisiveness – she had loads of patience and expert advice, helping me choose a dress that had everything I wanted. It was the structure and material of the dress, especially with the boxy crop top, which sold it for me. I hadn’t seen anything like it before. Real bride Lucy

Nush in Sophie Et Voilà

On 31 July 2021 Nush and Hugo wed in a Church of England ceremony at their local church in Essex, followed by an intimate marquee reception in Nush’s parents’ garden.

Nush chose a dramatic and modern Sophie Et Voilà gown from Miss Bush, wearing it with a hand-embroidered family veil.

Emma at Miss Bush is nothing short of amazing! Being a stylist, I felt so much pressure on getting the right dress. I knew I wanted an ethereal, boho-style dress, ideally with a floral design or embroidery. I very quickly came across Anna Kara; a Polish designer. I reached out to Miss Bush and she went out of her way to help me. I felt like a million dollars and it really was the dress of my dreams, which wouldn’t have been possible without Emma and her amazing team. I couldn’t recommend Miss Bush enough, not to mention the shop is an old chapel, so definitely worth a visit. Real bride Amber

Antonia in Jesús Peiró

On 21 August 2021 business development director Antonia wed portfolio manager Craig in a Church of England ceremony at The Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Petworth followed by an English Country-inspired reception at Cowdray House near Midhurst in West Sussex.

The couple desired a timeless and classic wedding, with the bride wearing a custom-made Jesus Peiro ball gown from Miss Bush.

I wore a Suzanne Neville bespoke dress from the incredible and amazing Miss Bush bridal boutique. I struggle to find the words to fully describe the phenomenal customer service and artistry that the team at Miss Bush Bridal provide their brides. I was hesitant about the idea of shopping for dresses. I’m petite but curvy. I was so nervous that there wouldn’t be any suitable options for me or that I would be uncomfortable in my dress. Real bride Fernanda

I asked to have my appointment with Emma Marshall, the Managing Director of Miss Bush. In my experience, Emma is a fashion and couture powerhouse. She’s got the true eye and instinct of an artisan designer. She is understanding, supportive, generous, highly principled and knows what looks and feels stunning and romantic. I want Emma, Suzanne, Jo and the whole team to know that they brought real happiness to me and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I consider myself very lucky to have been a Miss Bush Bride. My advice if you visit is to trust Emma and her team. You will come out feeling and looking your very best. Real bride Fernanda

Kemmi in Jesús Peiró

Kemmi and Dominic tied the knot with the vast and unique backdrop of Elmley Nature Reserve on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, inviting their guests to stay onsite for the wedding weekend.

I was introduced to Miss Bush by my cousin and maid of honour. It was the third or fourth boutique I visited at a point when the fear of never finding the perfect ‘dress’ was starting to creep in. The thing that set Miss Bush apart and made them stand out was not only the absolutely stunning collection of dresses, outfits and designers they carried but also how authentic they were. Emma and Corrine were honest, transparent and gave advice and recommendations that reflected that. As women, I trusted them and that made a huge difference. Real bride Kemmi

Lottie in Jesús Peiró

Lottie tied the knot with George on 2 July 2021 at Millbridge Court near Farnham in Surrey and their day was imbued with a modern, minimal and natural vibe and lots of gorgeous sage green and soft creams. Lottie’s gown was a breathtaking design by sought after Spanish brand, Jesus Peiro, that came with detachable puff sleeves, which she removed to effortlessly transition her look from daytime to a very cool and elegant evening vibe.

Miss Bush was the first dress shop I went to and from the moment I stepped into the chapel, I knew this was where I was going to get my dress. Miss Bush were so accommodating throughout, from the first appointment and setting up a Zoom call for all my bridesmaids to see me trying on a wedding dress for the first time to storing my dress for those extra months and making sure it was absolutely perfect. They encouraged me to be bold and filled me with confidence to be completely myself. Real bride Lottie

Hannah in Jesus Peiro

Hannah and Ed wed in deepest Surrey on 17 August 2019 at St. James Church, Abinger Common, Dorking followed by a wood and canvas marquee reception at Holmbury Cricket Club.

Hannah chose a full skirted, classic gown – an instantly recognisable Jesus Peiro design, with beautiful shoulder bow detail.

I couldn’t recommend Miss Bush more. It was a such a special experience and it’s amazing to have the chapel to yourself and take time to look through all of the dresses and chat to Emma. She was so knowledgeable and, despite meeting brides all day every day, she made me feel really special and instantly at ease. She always gives honest, no-nonsense feedback and so when she agreed the Jesus Peiro 933 was the one it really made me feel confident in my choice. Real bride Hannah

Harriet in Suzanne Neville

Harriet and Luke’s mid-Autumn wedding was held at the beautiful Buckinghamshire country house wedding venue, Hedsor House, in October last year.

The bride looked the epitome of effortless glamour in her Suzanne Neville couture gown, which she discovered at Miss Bush.

Suzanne Neville wedding dress from Miss Bush bridal boutique

I wore an incredible bespoke, sketched at in Surrey by Emma of Miss Bush and myself. I knew exactly what I envisioned for my wedding gown, and I couldn’t find it anywhere, so made it we did. It was the best decision ever.  Emma and her team were so helpful I would recommend them without hesitation to any bride. The boutique is situated in a converted chapel which is stunning, the attention to detail is exquisite and they honestly made the process a joy. No task was too big. I loved my dress, and seeing it come to life month after month from sketch to silk was a dream. Miss Bush know exactly what they are doing – for all body shapes – and truly want you to look your most beautiful on your wedding day. They nailed my vision perfectly. Real bride Harriet

Jesus Peiro wedding dress

I loved the inclusivity of love my dress, and always enjoyed browsing the real wedding features for inspiration. The bridal boutique I got my dress from was recommended to me by a colleague, and it was always featuring in Love My Dress too. The approach at is like nowhere else – they really are experts at what they do. Real bride Jess

The team were great at picking out dresses that would suit me and giving an honest opinion about what would and wouldn’t work – I am extremely indecisive and needed a bit of direction. Emma came up with the idea of customising the style of my dress to incorporate a lower back, it was amazing being able to make changes to the design and made the whole experience so personal. I would recommend Miss Bush to all brides, I looked forward to every appointment at the chapel. Real bride Jess

Isobel in Jesús Peiró

Isobel and George’s beautiful London wedding was held on 26th September 2020 – in between national lockdowns and just a week before wedding restrictions were about to become even tighter during the pandemic.

The dress chosen by Isobel is a design exclusive to Miss Bush – the ‘Anniversary Dress’, by Jesus Peiro. This very special gown isn’t available to order anywhere else. Created to celebrate Miss Bush’s 30th birthday in 2018, the dress features a simple, elegant bodice with full length sleeves and a fitted cummerbund waist. This sits above a full, romantic skirt with pleats and pockets. The gown is embellished with delicate hand sewn pearl detailing on the sleeves for a timeless, romantic finish. It is a complete head-turner.

Miss Bush was the only dress shop I visited. I absolutely loved their collection of dresses and Emma was so in tune with my taste. I cancelled all my other dress appointments as soon as I stepped out of the chapel; Miss Bush was the only shop for me. Throughout Covid, the Miss Bush team were so helpful and accommodating and I found the fittings were a particular source of comfort over lockdown as they served as a reminder that the wedding would one day still happen.
