Gemma and Daniel’s modern and exquisitely stylish wedding was held at London’s The Ned on 27th November 2022.
The couple, who met whilst working at fashion brand Cos, chose this beautiful former bank as their venue, because of their love of a classic aesthetic and their shared appreciation of the beautiful art deco design and old Hollywood glamour backdrop. Gemma looked incredible in her Jessica Bennett dress, which she discovered at London’s The Fall Bride. She styled her look with the most breathtakingly beautiful Christopher Kane feather veil and buckled mules by Roger Vivier.
Love and thanks to Kat Gillespie for sharing her beautiful wedding photography.
The Dress
My dress and bustle were by Jessica Bennet, purchased via The Fall Bride. Jessica’s dresses and separates are incredible. I love how they are so versatile, I’ve seen many different brides wear her pieces and not one looks the same. They are stand-out, beautiful pieces but with enough room to put your own bridal stamp on the look.
I loved the Alexa midi as it felt really classic from the minute I put it on but still modern enough that I didn’t feel like I was in dress up. A really wonderful contemporary bridal designer.
My first appointment to try on dresses was at The Fall Bride, and I tried on tonnes of different styles, which was really helpful for me to narrow down exactly what I was looking for. I tried a few other boutiques following that appointment but my heart kept telling me to return for the Jessica Bennet dress.
Annelise, who runs The Fall Bride, couldn’t have been more helpful over the course of the dress journey and I would recommend her stunning East London Studio to anyone beginning their dress shopping.
I guess the common goal for any bride is to look and feel their best on their wedding day – I felt like this dress was mine as soon as I tried it on and not like I was trying on someone else’s dress. That was super important to me.

Shoes, Veil & Accessories
My hair stylist were the bloody brilliant The Hair Bros, lucky enough to call Nick and Sean friends and they were amazing at settling my nerves in the morning. My shoes were Roger Vivier.
Make-up was by the equally amazing Poppy France – who is an incredibly talented, real calming force.
My feather veil was by Christopher Kane. As a Scot, a slice of Scottish design had to be incorporated into my look and this was definitely the show-stopper.

Flowers
Flowers were by Rebel Rebel Florist. I was so pleased with our beautiful wedding flowers. Following my initial conversation with Fabiana at Rebel Rebel, I had all faith that she understood my brief of seasonal wild florals in a deep hues of reds, pink and toffee. They really were stunning.
How They Met
We met whilst both working at the fashion brand COS, Daniel worked in E-commerce and I worked in Communications. We were introduced by a mutual friend who had previously worked with Daniel, the night before he started working at COS.
After six months of chats by the coffee machine, Daniel asked me on a date and the rest is history!
Daniel wore a Favourbrook suit via Mr Porter and a Sandro Shirt.
The Ceremony
As my parents are no longer with us, my sister walked me down the aisle which was a sweet moment.

. Daniel proposed to me with an incredible salt and pepper diamond ring made by Michelle so it felt natural to go back to her studio and create our wedding bands.

Photography
Daniel and I shot with Kat Gillespie a few years ago and were just astounded by how relaxed we felt in front of her lens and how much we trusted in her to capture us as a family.
Daniel isn’t a huge fan of being in front of the camera so finding someone that made him feel at ease was just a real bonus. I adore Kat’s work , her vision and style – her photography is uber chic and romantic, I couldn’t ask for much more. A real dream to work with.
My bridesmaids dresses were from Shrimps and Mary Benson.
Stealing The Scene
My son wore a gorgeous two-piece-set from Caramel. I was conscious to keep him comfortable and cute for the day, there is nothing worse than a two year old looking uncomfortable in a full suit. He loved it and still wears the separates now.
Evening and Favourite Moments
Our first dance was to ‘Sweet Dreams, TN’, by The Last Shadow Puppets and our entertainment was provided by The ModCons via Function Central.
I’m really not sure I could pinpoint my favourite part as I was on cloud 9 the whole day. There were real special moments throughout like the ceremony, and taking 10 minutes in our suite to sit, just the two of us, throughout the day. The party in the evening was SO much fun though!
Words of Wedded Wisdom
A form of wedding planner is a blessing – ours was part of The Ned’s wedding package, but someone who can coordinate with all of the suppliers whilst you’re busy focusing on yourself is invaluable. Apart from that, remember that the day is about you – so choose guests, music, clothes that make you happy.
On reflection, I wish we’d have trusted that everything would go right – I think we were both worried even up until the last minute about every aspect and in hindsight there was no need, it was so smooth and everything went even better than expected.
