Katie and Henry tied the knot on 18th June 2022 at Theberton Grange, the home of the groom’s parents, located in the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
This classy and effortlessly elegant wedding full of soft pastel tones and subtle romantic styling. The bride wore a minimalist silk gown by Kyha and the couple celebrated with their loves ones in a festoon-lit, open sided marquee supplied by Events Under Canva, that was set up in the beautiful gardens of Henry’s family home. A Marquee Wedding at Home
We wanted the wedding to be relaxed like us, but elegant and beautiful like the Suffolk countryside. We wanted the flowers and the food to be seasonal and local and a little taste of our favourite things.

A Khya Wedding Dress
Kyha was incredible. They’re a local boutique back in our home country of Australia with classic yet modern dresses. The service was great and I was torn between several dresses. The quality of the dresses was really great too. I would highly recommend them.
I loved ny dress – it was simple and comfortable but still with a bit of flare and drama. I loved the train and that I didn’t have to wear any shapewear underneath.

Shoes, Veil & Accessories
My perfume was Le Labo’s ‘Santal’ – it’s my go to and my husband loves it so it felt like a natural choice. My shoes were Louboutin.
I wore a simple drop pearl necklace that Henry had given to me for our registry ceremony. It was beautiful and perfect.
I wore pearl drop earrings from Tiffany’s that my parents gifted me for the wedding.
I wore a Kyha Veil, the ‘Marseille’, which was covered in small faux pearls and accented my jewellery really nicely.

The Ceremony
Both my parents walked me down the aisle to the sound of Canon in D, by Pachelbel.
We used the church’s vows, but we had already been legally married at the registrar in Australia, so we made the small change to say “I have” instead of “I do”.

We had two readings, one religious and one non-religious. Our religious reading was Song of Songs, 8:6-7. We also had an excerpt from “Wild Awake”, by Hilary T. Smith.

Photography
Our photographer was Grace Pham. We chose Grace as we loved her natural and candid style. We loved how she captured other people’s weddings and life events without making them seem to posed or artificial – and honestly she was so lovely.
She happened to be from Australia and we had just moved, and that felt like stars aligning.
How They Met
We met through mutual friends in New York and started dating when Katie moved to London. We were dating for three years and then got engaged after a move to Australia, right around our three year anniversary.

The Reception
We had a family friend hand-make the table runners and napkins, then we pinned a piece of lavender from the garden to each and the placard.
We provided ‘Tim Tams’ from Australia for guests. We had a family friend hand-make the table runners and napkins, then we pinned a piece of lavender from the garden to each and the placard. The placards were handwritten by me.

The First Dance
We danced to “Baby Just Care For Me” by Nina Simone. I’ve loved that song for awhile, and we loved the vibe – in the end it was a little faster that we anticipated to dance to but I still loved it.

Favourite Moments
I loved everyone being together in a small intimate ceremony in a place that was so meaningful to us. From the night before at the local pub, to our friends helping us getting ready, but most importantly when both our families came together as a new, bigger family.

Words of Wedded Wisdom
Be patient and know what’s important to you. You can very easily get caught up in the swirl of wedding planning and details, and at the end of the day, it’s about you as a couple, so you need to enjoy it.
Try to soak up every second of the actual day because it really does fly by.
