Emily in Eva Lendel for her Classy, Modern, City Wedding at Bread Street Kitchen in London

Ideas

Emily and Tim’s classy, modern and elegant city wedding, took place on 15th July 2023 in London.

The couple exchanged vows with a ceremony at St Mary-le-Bow Church on Cheapside, then celebrated with friends and family at Gordon Ramsay’s popular Bread Street Kitchen & Bar at St Paul’s.

These gorgeous, contemporary images were captured by our friend and recommended supplier, Georgina Harrison, who I cannot recommend more highly to any couple wanting to book a lovely, talented wedding photographer (drop Georgina an enquiry via her website today).

Emily wore a minimalist modern gown by Ukranian designer, Eva Lendel, which featured an oversized bow a the back, and chose to carry a delightfully romantic bouquet of soft pastel roses and peonies.

Flowers

Our florist was Kasia from Gloria Studio. Kasia was brilliant. We admittedly knew nothing about flowers and so left most of it down to her and we were delighted with the result. She dressed the restaurant perfectly and our bouquets were beautiful and just what we didn’t know we wanted.

Kasia very quickly understood the vibe of our wedding and ensured everything was perfectly matched to that.

Bridesmaids

We asked our bridesmaids to choose their own dress as long as it was pink. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and love their dress, which is hard when trying to find one style that suits everyone!

Given that we were doing away with some traditions anyway, we didn’t feel important for them to match, but asked them to keep to a pink dress to tie them all together.

The girls all wore their own shoes and I bought them pearl handbags from ASOS.

Flower Girl dresses were from Angel & Rocket.

Photography

Our photographer was Georgina Harrison. She was absolutely incredible and I’ve already recommended her to others! We knew we wanted a photographer who could capture the day as it happened and ensure we didn’t spend too much time on formal photos (we don’t love photos so Georgina had a job on her hands!).

We had a call before the wedding to run through a list of photos we knew we did want and to talk about timings and how Georgina would approach the day.

On the day itself, Georgina was just brilliant and a pleasure to have with us. She kept us all on track when we were getting ready which was very much appreciated and in general it was just so lovely to have her as part of our day. She felt like a friend rather than our photographer and we were so grateful for that.

Georgina and Sam worked so incredibly hard on the day and after the wedding, Georgina turned the photos round so quickly. We honestly couldn’t recommend her enough.

Klass Chauffeurs provided executive cars to take us to the church. They were extremely professional, easy to communicate with and I was so pleased with our choice.

Favourite Moments

Our DJ was Josh, who we booked through James Hudson at Revolver Sounds and he really kept the dancefloor going all night.

It’s so hard to pick a favourite part of the day but there was one moment that stuck out, when the wonderful team at Bread Street Kitchen took us to one side with a glass of champagne so that we could just have a moment to take everything in together. That felt really special and isn’t something we’d have thought to do ourselves.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Really think about what you both want from the day rather than get too worried about traditions or what people might expect. We both felt that there were a lot of traditions associated with a wedding that, whilst lovely, weren’t reflective of us.

We wanted everyone involved in our day to be relaxed and so we made the decision quite early on not to have speeches and we didn’t have a first dance. It made our day and the lead up so relaxed and we have no regrets!
