Every year, iconic champagne label Veuve Clicquot—synonymous with sophisticated celebration—hosts a polo match. Guests gather at the field with glasses of bubbly, shaded by umbrellas in Veuve’s signature rich + sunny yellow, to watch the horses trot and the polo mallets swing.
This year’s Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is right around the corner, so we thought it’d be the perfect moment to share with you an incredibly creative baby shower inspired by the event!
Mom-to-be Hannah says she’s always wanted to go to the Veuve Polo Classic: “The whimsical and playful elements of this event have always stood out to me as the pinnacle of a garden party aesthetic.”
When she and her husband were in the midsts of a challenging 3-year fertility journey, Hannah, an event planner herself, dealt with the difficult moments by turning her thoughts to the shower she’d one day throw. “It was an emotional and challenging process, but to help stay positive, I started planning our baby shower in my mind,” Hannah remembers. “I saw it as a big celebration for when our baby would finally arrive.”
When Hannah’s little girl was officially on the way, the mom-to-be (and co-founder of the mother daughter event planning duo Elite Events) got started, and planning for this glamorous + playful gathering began. Baby pinks and marigold yellows. Decorative bottles of bubbly. Spritzy mocktails. And—you can tell in the beautiful photos that Betty Globa Photography snapped—that every inventive + intentional detail was so lovingly designed.
“We all wanted to make sure the party was everything I had envisioned since we started this baby journey,” says Hannah. “To us, the shower was really a little love note to our baby girl and a big celebration to honor all the ups and downs we went through during our years of trying.”
The greenery-covered photo backdrop from On The Wall Design Studio was one of the celebration’s stand-out decor moments.
Oh, and we are absolutely obsessed with the way Hannah incorporated these Veuve-orange strollers spilling over with fresh flowers!
Hannah’s love of bubbly extends beyond this baby shower theme. “I am a big champagne drinker,” Hannah says, “and I gift a custom-painted champagne bottle to each of my brides after our weddings.” Such a unique + thoughtful thing for a wedding + event planner to do!
“Our guests all wore bright polo inspired attire,” Hannah remembers. “There were so many fabulously bright outfits and lots of oversized hats and fascinators.”
