Talk about going for the gold. At age 12, Jessica Long entered the international stage at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, winning three gold medals in swimming. She was the youngest competitor on the U.S. Paralympic Team! After 23 more Paralympic medals, and meeting the love of her life, Jessica’s story brings us here – to her + Lucas Winters’ lovely boho wedding in Baltimore.
J + L began dating 5 years ago, and have a mutual love for outdoor adventures + lots of laughter. When asked about their wedding vision, J shares: My wedding vision was boho! I think I said the word ‘boho’ 500+ times when planning the wedding. I wanted neutral colors for almost everything and then I had a few Turkish carpets to give a pop of color. Lots of greenery, too! One of my favorite parts of the decor at the wedding was how each table had amber orange goblets. Each one was different; simple, yet a pop of color.
For what looked like the most beautiful weather for a boho wedding, The Justin Jay captured all of the sweetest moments + details:
Girls Gettin’ Ready
The Wyatt Gown
What a confident, glowing bride! It’s always fun to feature a bride rocking one of our gowns. J is an absolute vision in the GWS x Lovers Society “Wyatt” gown. It was calling her in every way. She shared a bit with us about her wedding dress search:
After I tried it on, I just couldn’t stop picturing myself in THAT dress. It showed off my swimmer’s back, and had the most beautiful lace + not too much of it; just enough that you noticed. It was simple, yet a statement. I kept going back to that dress. When I finally decided it was the one, it was just me at the Lovely Bride store in Philly. I was staring in the mirror and the song my sister was going to sing started playing. That was all it took after looking for months!
Love, Light + First Look Vibes
Just the sweetest!
Really radiant. We love the soft hair + makeup by Beyoutiful by Brianna.
I have two! Of course seeing Lucas for the first time. I could tell he was nervous, which made me nervous; but as soon as we hugged everything melted away. It was a really sweet moment. I’m so glad we did a first look! It allowed us to have time just for us.
The second memory was after our first look and pictures were done, we had about a half hour before the ceremony – my sister (MOH) and I locked ourselves upstairs! I needed a moment with her to calm down and breathe and let the day soak in. We also danced to ‘Yeah’ by Usher, which made it so fun and really took away any extra nerves.
Perfect Boho Wedding Ceremony
