When you picture Italy, don’t you imagine age-worn buildings, inviting colors, outdoor dining with friends and whimsical wildflowers growing in the countryside?? Well those are exactly the things that make up Holly + Adam’s Italian wedding day. They chose to tie the knot at Castello di San Sebastiano Po, a historic venue outside of Turin. With the help of Angela Mugnai from Italian Eye, they brought boho to Italy, complete with smoke bombs, vintage rugs and bud vase arrangements.
H describes her vision as:
Rustic, boho, classic Italian-village chic that captured our personalities. It was taken to the next level by Italian eye! We wanted a 3 day wedding and we wanted to people to relax and feel like they were on holiday.
Think you’re ready to see the day through the lens of Lenny Pellico? Let’s go!
Blushing Bridesmaids
H chose vibrant florals for her bouquets, so in order to complement the florals, rather than compete, she dressed her girls in the prettiest shade of pale blush.
We love a good mismatched bridesmaid line-up, don’t you?? Shop our favorite blush-toned gowns below:
H stunned in a head-to-toe lace gown that featured a halter neckline and a sweeping train. Perfect for an Italian castle!
Seriously, that lace pattern is so unique! Love it!!!
Among the Wildflowers
An Italian wedding day wouldn’t be complete without lush florals, and White Pepper Studio did not disappoint! This aisle of arrangements looks exactly like walking through a meadow of wildflowers and we’re in love! Add the vintage rugs and it’s boho perfection!
You’ve heard the phrase “heart on your sleeve”, but what about hearts on a string? Aren’t these hanging floral hearts adorable?!
Exchanging Vows
Do you love this idea for a unity ceremony? Mix up your vows with these creative + meaningful ceremony unity ideas!
A kiss to seal the deal!
The Newlyweds
-A spontaneous dance-walk to the dinner table, with ‘Aint No Mountain’ playing.
-Walking into the courtyard aperitif, with the band playing and most fairytale like set-up.
-An informal outdoor ceremony with stunning flowers, the mayor, a close friend delivering part of the ceremony and a one-eyed cat at our feet.
Smoke Bombs Away!
These two are total smokeshows! We love the fun and romantic effect that smoke bombs give to a wedding day. Curious about them? Here’s a feature covering all you ever needed to know about smoke bombs!
Dining Alfresco
Italian family-style seating done right! Seriously, imagine dining under twinkle lights in front of this stunning building!
H + A took on a lot of rad DIY projects for their big day, one of them was this mirrored seating chart. Their planner, Italian Eye, shares more about the details they did themselves:
Buying a transfer sticker for the table plan and then attaching in to an old mirror at the venue. Having menu and place names designed formally, but personally designing and printing wedding program, venue signs and weekend welcome pack. Website, with sections for before, during and after wedding weekend. Digitally designed and sent thank you cards.
Love the dainty touch of velvet ribbons tied onto each flatware set!
Bud vases down the center of a long family-style table is proof that a little can go a long way. Each one of these small wildflower arrangements is petite on it’s own, but when grouped together, they make a stunning tablescape!
Dainty Blooms
H + A had such a fun combination of flowers including carnations, waxflower, celosia, snapdragon and garden spray roses.
-As the wedding day is meant to reflect you as couple and as a team, make sure both of you are involved in every part of the decision making. Maybe you need to persuade the groom to help. Or maybe the groom might need to get the bride to help!?
-Having a wedding planner takes the stress away, especially when getting married abroad. Angela gave us lots of photographers and caterers, that she loved and then we could take are pick without needed hours to research!
-The small touches make all the magical difference when it comes to it!
-Try to invite the people you want to share the day with, not the people you ’should’ invite.
-Plan in advance and then make sure you can relax and enjoy the day. It wasn’t worth all the money and effort if you’re on edge during it. We knew everything was in safe hands and so could enjoy every moment.
Congratulations Holly + Adam! Your Italian wedding day was stunning! We love your fun boho style and colorful wildflower arrangements. The GWS team is wishing you both many adventures and lots of love ahead!
