We love color as much as the next gal; but, there’s something so classically cool about a neutral wedding. Before you write off neutrals as ‘boring,’ consider what they’re paired with. For today’s wedding editorial, we’re exploring a classic neutral palette of ivory, fresh whites + muted mauve with tons of texture! Could adding texture be the key to nailing a neutral wedding?
We’re always onboard with a wedding vision that’s fearless! The team behind today’s inspiration tackled this neutral palette beautifully, while adding on contrasting styles + loads of texture. Here’s more behind the inspiration from McKenzie Jayne Designs: I was inspired by the raw minimal vibe that the South of France inspires. Conversely, Calgary is filled with a lot of moody palettes; including limited lighting, dark woods, rustic florals, etc. The wedding season is limited to literally 2-3 months here as the weather is so cold year round – this inspired me to bring a light airy raw foundation to this shoot. Encouraging brides to think outside the box, and still have their dream wedding in a space they would have never thought was possible.
It’s modern minimalism at The Commons with every added texture we never knew we needed – let’s see it from the lens of Sarah Pukin Photography:

Would you *rock* an engagement ring like this? This rose gold number from Alberta Diamond Exchange has so much vintage character – we love it!
Neutral Bride
This is neutral color palette heaven, you guys! Flower Artistry Co absolutely nails the etherial-meets-minimalist wedding vibes here with the light, wispy bouquet. The florals only get better in the ceremony installation paired with soft, draping textures.

Cool Reception + Grazing Table
Holy grazing table! This spread by Brie & Banquet is so welcoming + colorful. We love seeing all the juicy, charcuterie treats pop against the light, neutral reception tablescape.
These tabletop pieces from Modern Luxe Rentals look clean + stylish against the ghost chairs and modern venue.
We’d use this display on our dining tables! The varying pottery vases paired with dried florals is a cool look.
So Much Texture
Pretty Sweet Co. topping off this modern wedding inspiration with a sweet ‘lil cake. Can you guess our favorite cutting cake topping? Dried flowers!
