Princess’ Beatrice Engagement Ring

Following the news of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo’s engagement announcement, we haven’t been able to stop staring at her enormous, dazzling diamond.

The ring was designed by British Jeweller Shaun Leane, who is famed for his edgy and punk-inspired aesthetic, often combining hard and soft elements to his bold designs. Beatrice’s ring is no exception as the platinum band, set with pavé diamonds offsets the traditional round diamond, while the tapered baguette diamonds add a modern edge.

Speaking about the ring, Jason D’Heureux, creative director of bespoke jewellers Taylor & Hart, explains: “Like her grandmother, her aunt and cousin-in-law, Princess Beatrice has gone with an all-diamond engagement ring. The centre diamond looks to be around two carats and likely possesses very high colour and clarity. Likely crafted in 18ct white gold, a favourite of the royals, I would estimate the value to be around £75,000.”

While London Jeweller, Susannah Lovis thinks the value could be even higher.

“Princess Beatrice’s is a beautiful engagement ring with a round brilliant cut diamond flanked by 4 baguette-cut diamonds,” Susannah adds.

“It is breath-taking, particularly because all you can see is diamonds and the platinum band is hidden. It appears to be around 3.5 carats and would probably have cost in the region of £100,000.”

Beatrice’s engagement announcement comes after her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, wed Jack Brooskbank in a ceremony at Windsor Castle in October 2018.
