There’s something magical about a Texas desert wedding — and we aren’t the only ones who’ve noticed. From Marfa to Big Bend and all the small towns + big skies in between, couples are finding RAD wedding inspiration. Think desert vibes-meets-western boho style plus a strong helping of “Texas forever” nostalgia. But before we dive in, let’s hear what inspired this shoot from the day’s photographer, Jessica at Under the Sun Photography:
Sultry summer days in Texas are like no other. The long, hot days are spent driving down to the Gulf, exploring the Texas Hill Country, or watching an epic desert sunset in Marfa. This styled shoot at Gruene Estates personifies those vivid memories and the harmonious colors of a summer sunset in a big Texas sky.
The styling, staging, and design plan was led by Sandra at Rustic Romance Rentals, with collaboration and implementation by planner + designer, Caroline at Volaré Planning & Design. So, are you ready to have a look at all the rustic, bohemian-inspired, terracotta, rattan, textured goodness?! Let’s go!
Go Gruene! A Wedding in the Texas Hill Country
First up, the hand-stitched, textured invitation suite by Bell Papel set the sunset tones as the stars of the day.
Next, the backdrop by Lesley’s Flowers and Gifts was composed of dried palm fronds found on Lesley’s family farm. Fresh dahlias, various protea, hand-painted anthurium, and lush garden roses pulled in those sunset hues.
Isn’t that a stunner? You guys know we LOVE dried palms…and here are just a few reasons why.
Joanna Gaines would diiiie for those doors.
Western Boho Bridal Style
The bride wore a Rue de Seine gown from Unbridaled and cascading curls paired with a dried floral hairpiece by Love, Lipstick, and Lashes.
And what a bouquet! Dreamy (and rare!) chocolate cymbidium orchids and paddle cactus added a grand Texan vibe. Then, the blooms were wrapped up in a fringed leather bouquet wrap by Double J Saddlery — a little western flare for a boho bouquet.
The bridesmaids carried bouquets were inspired by the West Texas tumbleweeds caught up on a windy day!
Texas Desert Wedding Reception Inspiration
Rustic Romance Rentals designed a head table for the couple to take in the sunset under the shade of a Texas oak tree.
As for the beverages? Tim the Girl created a clementine jalapeño margarita and we’re thinking a trip to Texas is in order for this drink alone…YUM.
Sunset Tones at Sunset
After drinks, it’s time for a little walk around the property!
Sunset was always in mind, so the mustard + terracotta velvet dresses from Bella Bridesmaids by Jenny Yoo were a perfect selection!
As for the groom, he was dressed in soft cotton Paige Jeans, a Theory dress shirt, and a Bonobos coat all from Nordstrom.
Cake at Twilight
Cakes Rock San Antonio created a romantic, bohemian, hand-painted, four-tiered wedding cake, accented with Cat Haus Rentals’s hand-carved wooden screen and cake table decor.
A beautiful day with ALL the inspo. Thanks to the team for sharing your creative vision for a dreamy West Texas wedding!
