Not many event venues can transport you back to Old Mexico as vividly as Go Canseco in San José del Cabo. But today’s Mexican wedding inspiration is aesthetically authentic, and romantically packed rugged textures and sweet wildflower designs!
Lola del Campo, Owner of UpSouth, instantly fell in love with the striking elements of this venue. It was such a pleasure to twist them into our vision! The abode walls and antique elements highlighted all the vivid colors of the floral designs. The outstanding Mexican folk art called ‘papel picado’ was used for the Mexican wedding altar, in the hope that more people will embrace the enchantment of Baja style!
LA76 Photography captures the authenticity of this editorial, bringing each element to life through the soul of her images. Feeling inspired by Old Mexico? Let’s have a look:
Champagne Wedding Dress
What a gorgeous sheer, polkadot overlay! Leo Sicairo’s wedding dress design is über romantic, and softens the rugged abode setting.
Once you get past the initial burst of beauty from this Old Mexico abode, all eyes are drawn to the unique papel picado!
Papel Picado Ceremony Backdrop
Perhaps you’ve seen papel picado before. Typically, it’s crafted into banners used to decorate on Día de los Muertos. Yet today you’re seeing this epic Mexican wedding ceremony backdrop from Maracas Maracas. Talk about patient creativity! What emphasizes the beauty of this Mexican folk art style more than a tapestry like this?!
Rugged ceremony chairs that play so well with the abode structure.
A statement backdrop, like this papel picado, could be used multiple times during a wedding. For instance, the couple’s sweetheart or head table could be placed in front of it for the reception. More bang for your buck, right? Let gorgeous works of art like that shine all throughout the day.
Romantic Mexican Wedding Reception
Creative seating displays are a must, and this resin sign does not disappoint!
It’s a palette of wildflower pink and burgundy for this floral table runner, created by Lola del Campo. We love the illusion of ‘living’ flower arrangements for these wedding ceremony and reception vignettes!
We love all things unexpected here at GWS, and this wildflower-adorned grand piano is definitely unexpected!
Care to dance? Even though they’re in an Old Mexico abode, there’s still a ‘blank slate’ elegance to this interior.
Dessert and Candlelight
Ooh, the color of this velvet linen is über romantic paired with natural candlelight. We are feeling the sweet seclusion of this historic spot!
Cabo Cakes created an impressionist wedding cake with the warmest color palette. It’s all wonderfully reminiscent of Old Mexico.
In summary, we’ll be heading to Old Mexico in our dreams tonight…or just crafting a grand papel picado. Maybe both!
