Luxe, Hedonistic Bridal Vibes at Cambo Country House in St Andrews, Featuring Sassi Holford

Ideas

Such a pleasure to welcome photographer and photography educator, Lisa Devlin back to Love My Dress today.

Lisa is a sought after photographer teacher whose Photography Farm workshops are always booked out in advance. At the latest farm, Lisa and her delegates captured beautiful model Melissa wearing gowns by our highly recommended supplier, Sassi Holford, and collaborated with the brilliantly creative Gloam, another recommended supplier, in styling the day.

“After so long of ‘business-only’ microweddings and elopements, we put on one of our shoot days to celebrate the frivolity and opulence of weddings.”

“Here at Photography Farm, we put on these shoot days to help photographers fill in the blanks in their portfolios and connect with one another. After the last 18 months, it was a joy to come together to celebrate the industry that we all hold so dear!”

“We chose Cambo House Country Estate as our location as it has a rich history, built with the sole purpose of hosting parties in mind. Situated on the rugged coastline of Fife in Scotland, it was an escape from the city for the family that built it.”

“Hedonistic and luxurious yet relaxed, the house is full of vignettes perfect for setting up special moments in.”

“From a sweetheart table to a dressed library drinks reception, we wanted to inspire couples to think beyond the usual wedding setups to create an event that is unique to them.”

“To compliment the grandeur of the house, the team at styling-house Gloam came up with the theme of Tapestry – they took inspiration from super rich fabrics and drapery, and the luxurious and fun elements that get pulled in to these.”

Sassi Holford + Follow

“After the past year of simple elopements and microweddings, we wanted to provide rich, luxe, hedonistic inspiration for a maximalist party aesthetic.”

We wanted a riot of texture and a concept that we could really turn up the fun for – ethereal floristry meets indulgent styling with dramatic accessories.”

“For bridal, we were lucky enough to work with some gorgeous Sassi Holford gowns for a sumptuous, grandiose look. Model Melissa was gorgeously curvy so fit the bill for these perfectly.”

Blouson sleeves paired with dramatic drapery made for elegant, bourgeoise styling fit for a mansion house soiree.”

“For our second look, Pin Up Hair Glasgow filled Melissa’s gorgeous locks with sprigs of gypsophila, and the team styled a sequin evening gown with wild florals in the courtyard – if there’s anywhere you could rock a cocktail dress in the middle of the day, it’s Cambo estate!”

Gloam are a full-package styling company, so they covered everything from stationery to floristry, set design to linens in-house, allowing for super-cohesive looks in a rich colour palette.”

They worked with the existing surroundings to create beautiful set ups, sympathetic to the estates history and legacy, but with a rock n roll edge.”

“The library set up, with delicate florals and foliage wrapped around the library ladder made for an inspirational set-up that would be perfect for a ceremony or drinks reception backdrop alike.”

“Above all else, we wanted to inspire couples to have fun with their styling, to work to their venue’s strengths but also not to be afraid to put their own stamp on things, and to celebrate the elements of weddings that we’ve all so dearly missed.”
