Leona + Ally’s Glamorous Winter Wedding at Hyde House in The Cotswolds

Ideas

What better gown to wear on a crisp winter’s day wedding than a sparkling, long-sleeved number? I’m delighted to share with you Leona and Ally’s beautiful wedding in the Cotswolds.

This is the wedding of insurance underwriter Leona and head of marketing Ally. They chose Cotswold venue Hyde House near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire for their ceremony and reception on 26 November 2021.

Inspired by the bride’s love of neutral tones and pampas grass, the black tie day was elegant and minimal, with softness added through dried flowers and grasses.

The bride wore her hair in a curly down-do, styled by Wedding & Event Hair by Kirsty, and her make-up was applied by Niamh Ford MUA.

Her perfume was Chanel Gabrielle.

Leona wore an exquisite gown with a sensuous thigh slit and beautiful puff sleeves, from Australian designer Jane Hill – a discovery she made at Lace & Grace Bridal Boutique.

“I visited Lace & Grace because I knew they stocked the dress I wanted. I had seen the dress on Jane Hill’s Instagram and just had to try it; I couldn’t get it out of my head! Becky and Carol, the owners of Lace & Grace, were both lovely and very helpful.”

The wedding ceremony was held in the high-ceilinged, airy barn, decorated with a fairy light canopy.

“We hired items and had a fairy light canopy installed by The Cotswold Wedding Company.

Gloucestershire County Council led the service and Leona walked down the aisle to meet Ally with her father, to ‘Everglow’ by Coldplay.

Leona wore high, metallic heels from Dune London and drop earrings from Victoria Percival.

The bouquets of wild flowers and grasses were created from Dried & Tied Bouquets.

“Cara specialises in dried flowers and is absolutely amazing at what she does. The style of the wedding was based on pampas grass and dried floral arrangements.”

“From the first meeting with her, she knew exactly what I wanted and understood me 100%. The night before the wedding Cara messaged me some pictures of the table-pieces and my bouquet and I almost cried with happiness. I was blown away.”

The couple have a nineteen-month-old son, who played a key part in their engagement story.

“We met on New Year’s Eve 2016 in a local bar. At 5ft 11, I’m tall for a woman and Ally is 6ft 5, so he caught my eye immediately. It’s a bonus that he is also very handsome.”

“Ally lived in Somerset at the time and I lived in Gloucester, but his best friend had moved to Gloucester a few weeks before and Ally had joined him for New Year’s Eve.”

“We got engaged in July 2020 when we were staying in Fowey, Cornwall for my birthday.”

“Whilst I was getting ready for what I thought was a birthday breakfast on our balcony, Ally put our son in a vest with ‘Will you have my surname, mummy?’ on and was down on one knee on the balcony, waiting for me.”

Every single picture tells a story! It’s amazing how quickly you forget parts of your big day but as soon as we received the gallery we were able to relive the whole day, plus all the bits we missed.

“Every single picture tells a story! It’s amazing how quickly you forget parts of your big day but as soon as we received the gallery we were able to relive the whole day, plus all the bits we missed. We have had so many comments about what a lovely guy Pat was on the day. He felt like a guest and not just the photographer.”

“Neither of us like our pictures being taken but Pat completely puts you at ease. Words will never be enough to thank Pat for what an amazing job he did at capturing our big day. We will always highly recommend him to anyone who asks.”

“Our favourite part of the day was the speeches. It was the most hilarious hour of the day, with plenty of ugly, laughing photos to prove it.”

The evening party had music from DJ Kieran Clarke Entertainments and a first dance to ‘Something Just Like This’ by Coldplay and The Chainsmokers.

The planning stage can feel very overwhelming at times but all your hard work will pay off.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“Stick to your guns and do what is best for you as a couple. The planning stage can feel very overwhelming at times but all your hard work will pay off.”

Try not to overthink the ‘small stuff’ too much – you won’t even notice it on the day.”

Patrick Partridge Photography, thank you for sharing your work with us here today. Please join me in sending Leona and Ally so many thanks and congratulations too.
