A Bespoke Suzanne Neville Gown for an Elegant Spring Marquee Wedding

Ideas

On 24 April 2021 Ben, a tech product manager wed Frederika, who works in education tech, at St Augustine’s Church in East Hendred, Oxfordshire.

The couple wanted a religious church ceremony and for their marquee reception to feel romantic and timeless.

We wanted to start this feature with this incredibly moving wedding film by Jake Burgess Films. The beautiful photography that follows is by Hannah McClune Photography. Enjoy!

Shoes, Beauty & Accessories

I really wanted to wear statement earrings and I’m glad I did.

Rachel Arike Hair Stylist styled my hair into a bun and Christina Ouloupi Make-up Artist did my makeup.

My shoes were from Aquazzura and my I wore the Toscana lace wedding veil, by Botias

I wore Louis Vuitton Les Sables Rose. It’s my favourite scent.

The Dress

My dress was from the Suzanne Neville showroom in Knightsbridge. The staff there were amazing and meeting Suzanne was a real treat. I would 100% recommend them to other brides.

I wanted something that was different to an everyday bridal look but I also wanted something timeless. I loved my earrings and dress the most.

I loved looking at wedding dresses online. It became my lockdown hobby and I would spend hours on the Browns, Pronovias and Suzanne Neville accounts. A huge impact of Covid was on my wedding dress.

My original dress choice was cancelled as the retailer went bust due to Covid. This led me to working with Suzanne on a bespoke design.

The Groom

Ben and I met in 2017 on instagram and we got engaged in 2019.

Ben selected a tux and bow-tie from Suit Supply whilst the bridesmaids were in pale green ASOS gowns.

Photography

Hannah McClune Photography‘s light and airy photography style was a beautiful match for the clear April weather and the minimal, floral-focussed styling of the day.

Flowers

The florals by The Rose Shed featured pale whites and ivories interspersed with soft blush pinks and nudes, with subtle hints of foliage. There were structured, floral-heavy displays with roses being the primary flower throughout all floral aspects with touches of anthurium for a stylish, elegant feel.

Beautiful, tall meadows lined the church aisle and were repurposed into the marquee for the wedding breakfast, whilst for their top table single stem bud vases created a field of beautiful florals around them. Given the smaller marquee, the scent was incredible.

A Note from  Jennifer Louise Weddings

Working with event planner Jennifer Louise Weddings, the couple put together an elegant, minimalist look, pairing a soft colour palette of pure white, soft green and blush pink with a clean, modern finish.

We are delighted to list Jennifer Louise Weddings in our curated list of recommended wedding suppliers.

When Frederika and Ben contacted me, they wanted to create a fun, memorable wedding day, injected full of their personality. As with so many others, Covid impacted their original plans, meaning multiple venue changes, reducing numbers from two hundred to fifteen and plenty of restrictions but nothing was going to stop them. Jennifer Louise

Moving to a marquee wedding gave us a blank canvas to work with. We created a romantic, glam wedding day, featuring lots of soft pinks, nudes, and whites with soft gold accents. Luxurious textures and an abundance of beautiful romantic florals for the ultimate fairy-tale feel. Jennifer Louise

Words of Wedded Wisdom

If possible, try to remain calm and go with the flow. We did the opposite in that we tried to forecast what would happen and it made things more stressful.

Enjoy every part of the process because it flies by so quickly! Also try and put yourself and your fiancée first; everyone will have an opinion about what you should do and how you should celebrate your day, but it’s your day.
