Emma in Lola Varma for her Classy City Wedding at RSA House in London

Ideas

Emma and Pete’s tied the knot in July 2022 with an effortlessly classy wedding at RSA House in London.

The super stylish bride turned to contemporary East London bridal wear store, The Fall Bride, for her beautiful modern Lola Varma ensemble, later changing in to Rime Arodaky for her evening look.

This gorgeous day was captured, and filmed to perfection by Love My Dress recommended supplier, and fine art wedding photographers for modern couples, Kernwell Photography. Enjoy my loves.

Veil, Shoes & Accessories

My veil was by another Australian brand, Harriette Gordon. It was the 4.8 Ruched Tulle Veil.

My earrings were the by Christie Nicolaides and my shoes were gold Chanel heels.

Bridal Separates by Lola Varma

I wore the Pravia top and Zoya Skirt, both by designer Lola Varma, from The Fall Bride boutique. My second look was by Rime Arodaky.

Annelise, founder of The Fall Bride, was wonderful to work with. She is extremely passionate and truly loves every brand she stocks.  She has created a light and relaxed space where I felt comfortable and confident.

Annelise was helpful and accommodating and provided a great home service during Covid. When my order arrived she kept my Lola Varma wedding look safe for a whole year before I contacted her to book appointments for alterations.

She stocks amazing accessories and I would send any of my friends to her boutique.

I was thrilled to find an Australian brand that I loved. I wanted it to suit my ‘city’ wedding. I wanted to feel confident and wear something that was perfectly me and that’s what I found.

A City Wedding Venue

Everything went to plan and was even better than we’d hoped for, which is thanks in no small part to Sylvia and all the staff at RSA House. Every room and area really came into its own, to set the mood and tempo for the different stages of the day and evening.

Choosing RSA House as our venue was the best decision we made right at the start of our wedding planning, and everything else fell into place from there really.

Our celebrant, Tia Scully, was up there with the best parts of our wedding. All our guests loved her too! They were all raving about her after the ceremony.

A Wedding at RSA House

We loved the idea of a big celebration with our friends and family but hadn’t put much thought into the formal part of the day. Tia helped us realise what we wanted and she wrote the most amazing ceremony filled with happiness and love that was so relaxed, fun and personal to us.

After our first meeting I knew Tia would be great but she was even more fabulous than we could have ever imagined. It was just like a friend was marrying us.

We didn’t write our own vows but Tia gave us a template and we changed a few words. Pete and I spoke together at dinner and wrote something individual for each other that we said during our thank you speech.

We had quite a large bridal party and we wanted each of them to know how much they mean to us so in place of a reading we had Tia read out some words that we had written about all the people in our bridal party.

Kernwell Photography

We feel so lucky to have found Kernwell Photography. I had been sifting through instagram pages and as soon as we saw Michelle and Phil’s work we were immediately drawn to their style. It’s light, bright, happy and they manage to capture the perfect moments.

Once we met them we knew we wanted them to be at our wedding. We had a lovely day showing them around our favourite area of London for our engagement shoot and couldn’t wait to see them again for the wedding.

They worked their magic and created the most incredible gallery of photos for us.

Everytime I look at our pictures I am immediately transported back to our magical day. They are kind, fun and interesting people too, which made spending our important moments with them so perfect.

Michelle and Phil also created this short film for us. We would recommend them to everyone.

How They Met

We met on Tinder in January 2014. Pete proposed to me in Tokyo at the end of 2019 when we were on our way to Australia for Christmas. We were engaged for two and a half years before we got married.

Wedding Flowers by Hazel Gardiner

I fell in love with floral designer Hazel Gardiner’s work, she is so talented and the nicest person. We had so many spaces and large areas to decorate and I really wanted the flowers to make a statement.

I trusted her and she delivered in spades! She and her team created a flower garden of my dreams.

Evening & Dancing

I loved my Rime Arodaky second look too. Pete and I spent a lot of time thinking about the party part of the wedding and I knew I wanted something fun and floaty to dance in until 2am! I also wore some Jennifer Behr in the evening.

Our favourite part of the day was the party in the vaults at the RSA. Our first dance as to ‘Rather Be’, by Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne.

Throughout the day, our entertainment included acoustic duet, Animo and in the evening we had the LP Collective, a 7-piece band via Tailored Entertainment Ltd, and then a DJ supplied via The Alive Network, and a karaoke booth bu Pop-Up Karaoke Booth and photobooth by Absolute Booth.
