Marriage is regarded as a sacred vow made by God between a man and a woman. The wedding ceremony is regarded as a public declaration of this pact in front of God, loved ones, and other people. The couple exchanges vows during the ceremony, which typically include commitments to love, respect, and cherish one another for the rest of their lives. As a sign of their commitment to one another, the couple might also give each other rings.
