An Eclectic + Elegant Wedding At The Sands Hotel In Palm Springs

Planning

“We wanted our wedding to be an eclectic fusion of our passions — fashion, art and architecture,” say Beverly + Rafael. The couple said “I do” at The Sands Hotel in Palm Springs, California, and their passionate, aesthetic approach to planning led to a celebration full of show stopping florals and stylish wedding day looks.

Beverly + Rafael collaborated with event designers and planners from LB Events to create a super balanced and unique look for their big day. “We always said we wanted our wedding to be full of juxtapositions,” the couple says, ”feminine but masculine, modern yet classic.”

Jaw-dropping ceremony floral installations were balanced with minimalist signage. Pops of pink throughout the event’s design were playful nods to The Sands Hotel’s famously pink facade while muted ivories played a big role in the day’s color scheme.

We can’t wait to show you Duey Photo’s gorgeous pictures of this design-forward day. Let’s dive in!

Beverly knew she didn’t want a traditional wedding dress or the traditional wedding dress search. Her passion for fashion had her looking through the ready-to-wear collections of all sorts of designers she loves and admires. That’s what led her to this high-neck, low-back, shimmery, beaded gown by Flora. “It’s not something I’d normally gravitate towards,” Beverly says, “but for some reason I couldn’t get the image out of my mind. That’s when I knew I had to try it on, and it was perfect.”

The Ceremony

Can you even believe what Rogue & Fox created out of greenery?!

More evidence of the way that juxtaposition guided Beverly + Rafael’s design vision: The sculptural installations of the ceremony backdrop are balanced perfectly by the wild, grassy arrangements lining the aisle.

“Throughout the planning process, we were continuously drawn to the idea of negative space,” says the couple. “We brought this curvature motif throughout our wedding from the invitation to the ceremony backdrop. The entire design felt easy because it was true to who we are as a couple – an organized chaos with the utmost intention.”

We love the idea of woven hand fans as guest favors in the Palm Springs heat!
