The Bride + Groom Each Wore Three Different Looks At This Arizona Wedding Full Of Desert-Inspired Colors

Planning

Vy + Deejay were out on a hike when they happened upon wedding venue The Paseo in the desert hills near Superstition Mountain east of Phoenix. They weren’t even engaged yet, but they knew it would be the place they wanted to tie the knot when the time came.

When wedding planning started, Vy + Deejay leaned into a terra cotta color scheme that reminded them of their beautiful Arizona desert surroundings and teamed up with planners and event designers from Your Jubilee to create a wedding day full of personalization, flair, and THREE killer outfits for both the bride and the groom.

Beautiful photos to look back on were important to the couple, and photographer Suzy Goodrick captured every carefully chosen element of Vy + Deejay’s day. Let’s take a look!

“We picked out the color terracotta for the groom suit before everything else,” says the couple. It was tough to find a look in the color they were imagining, but when Vy happened across this bold orange suit from Nordstrom, they knew it was the one.

Vy is a professional nail artist, so Deejay got to rock custom desert-inspired pinky nail art on the big day!

The black Christian Louboutin dress shoes that Christian wore were so shiny and fab!!

The First Look

L&B Weddings created the day’s warm tone flowers. We’re loving the way they worked romantic blush and pink blooms in with all of the oranges in Vy’s bridal bouquet.

Vy found this romantic strapless lace mermaid gown at Bella Lily Bridal. We love that deep plunge neckline!!

The Ceremony

All of the warm pinks, reds, and oranges pop beautifully against the Arizona desert landscape.

The couple honored Vy’s Vietnamese heritage by incorporating a traditional tea ceremony into their “I do’s.” Get into our collection of creative and meaningful wedding ceremony ideas if you’re looking for the best way to express your union as a couple.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Thuyvy: "For Deejay, it was when I read him my vows. He said he wasn’t expecting it because I didn’t have my vows submitted. (I actually wrote my vows the morning of the wedding. When I woke up that morning feeling so emotional, everything just felt like a dream come true.) For me it was when we did our first look and the moment when I walked down the aisle seeing everyone’s face and Deejay was trying to hide his happy tears."

Shots shots shots!!! How fun is the custom shot board that Vy + Deejay used to toss one back as a newly married couple!?

All that fresh eucalyptus worked into the lush floral centerpiece garland means Vy + Deejay’s reception must have smelled so lovely and fragrant!

The dangling greenery of those floral hanging installations is beyond romantic. Take a look through our list of the most creative hanging installations for your wedding to take your reception’s floral decor vertical like Vy + Deejay did!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

If you have a budget to stick to, you must know which categories are important to you and focus on those. For us besides the venue, the things that were important to us were food and drink, music/vibe, and photography. The majority of our budget went towards those. Also, be yourself and do what you want because it’s you and your fiancé’s wedding, not other people’s weddings. Take your time to save for the wedding. Don’t rush into having a wedding right away. Take lots of pictures along the way so when you look back at those pictures you can relive those precious moments.

Trego the DJ had Vy, Deejay, and their guests dancing all night long.

Cue the cold sparks!! Look number three for the couple consisted of this super cute strapless and feathery reception dress for Vy and a sleek gray suit for Deejay!

Congratulations, Vy + Deejay! Your Arizona desert wedding day was full of flair! All the best from GWS!
