Jenny and Jonnie tied the knot on Saturday 7th October 2023, at the beautiful Gloucestershire country house wedding venue, Elmore Court.
The couple hired the wonderful and very lovely wedding planner, Jane Riddell, of Planned For Perfection to plan and style their nature inspired wedding day. The vision was to create a day that brought the outside in and celebrated all things green.
Jenny wore a gorgeous couture gown and veil by British designer, Suzanne Neville.
Photography was captured by Rob Tarren and this beautiful film created by Vogue Wedding Films. Enjoy!
Photography
We really wanted a documentary style photographer, because we wanted to make sure we spent the day enjoying ourselves with our friends and family rather than taking photos. Rob Tarren has a great way of really capturing candid moments from the day and he is incredibly experienced at our venue.
On the day Rob was great, he had a great balance of making sure we got the photos we wanted while also making sure we were really able to enjoy our day and we both couldn’t be happier with our photos.

How They Met
We met ten years ago on a work placement at IBM. In that first year we formed a friendship, and then both went back to our respective universities. After our final year of university, we both ended going back to IBM to work in London and, after three years our friendship finally blossomed in to a relationship.
In September 2021, Jonnie’s family were staying nearby and Jonnie had planned for us to all go on a walk in my favourite place, Denbies Hillside in Surrey. When we got there, Jonnie “called his parents” only to find out that his Dad wasn’t feeling well so he suggested we do the usual loop we walk and then check in with his parents. Meanwhile, it also transpired that a group of school children were kicking off their Duke of Edinburgh walk, so what is normally quite a quiet natural trust area, ended up being extremely busy.
Jonnie suggested we walked in the opposite direction to the way we usual do. We ended up leaving well before the schoolchildren so didn’t end up seeing them the entire walk. About 20 minutes in to our walk jonnie suggested we sit down and take a look at the beautiful hillside view, and then, with no one else around, Jonnie got down on one knee and proposed, I was totally surprised and it was such a special moment.
We then spent the rest of the walk with Jonnie telling me about how long he had spent planning and that he was so glad to finally be able to talk about it as he found keeping it all a secret so hard.
But that wasn’t all, Jonnie had planned a “dinner with my sister and cousins” so I could share the news, but when we got there, both of our entire extended families were there to celebrate with us. It was so amazing to celebrate with our closest friends and family
We were engaged for about two years prior to our wedding.

The Reception
Our table linen was hired from Alba Tableware. Green water glasses were rented via Whitehouse Event Crockery and the Rose Charger plates were rented from The Luxe Collection.
Flowers were by Sorori Floral Design. We had quite a clear vision of what we wanted for flowers, and from everything in the Sorori portfolio, it was clear they would be able to deliver, plus they also had great experience at our venue.
Maria and Lauren are incredible, they have a brilliant eye for what will work best and are brilliant at taking a vision from us and our planner and really executing above and beyond
Louise Rowles Designs created all our stationery, including the invitations, menus, table plans, place cards and all signage. Furniture was hired via Furniture On The Move.
We hired magician, Richard Parsons to entertain our guests and gave them all a little polaroid of a picture of the guest with the Bride and or groom – we got these from Printiki.
Our cake was from Cake Daydreams. We tried a sample of Claire’s cake at an open day at Elmore Court and we immediately knew we had to have her cake, her flavours are just incredible (to this day, I know I will never have a better chocolate fudge cake than Claire’s).
We went for a four tier cake with buttercream with flowers on each level. We had to go with a 4 tier as Jonnie wanted to make sure there was cake left over for us to take home (we still have about half of it in our freezer and bring it out whenever we have guests).
Evening & Dancing
We also hired Deckstar Deluxe DJ and the Musical Orphans band for the evening and danced to Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’.
We wanted to make our first dance fun so we loved the slow and quick elements of this song. Also we have always sung this song to each other throughout our relationship.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Don’t get caught up in trying to make sure everything is perfect ahead of, and especially on the day. Your day WILL be perfect, because you are marrying your person, so don’t worry about anything and enjoy every second of it.
Secondly, trust your suppliers, they are the professionals and do this pretty much every day. Great suppliers were a big part of why we could go into our day not having to worry about anything.
We genuinely could not have asked for a more perfect day, we both had the most wonderful time. For us it was truly perfect, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make it happen.
