When it came to the event design portion of this colorful Texas celebration, Rielly + Micheal had a head start! Rielly is a Senior Event Producer for House of CLRK by Emily Clarke so she’s no stranger to the wedding design process and went in knowing exactly how to make her wedding vision come together.
“I design weddings for my career, so I instantly knew I wanted something unique & different from the all-white, traditional southern wedding,” says bride Rielly. We love that the couple brought things full circle by working with planners from House of CLRK by Emily Clarke to bring their whimsical + vibrant take on the southern wedding to life!
Rielly + Micheal, who met in college, gathered all of their friends and loved ones at The RoseMary just north of Dallas. “Micheal & I both fell in love with our venue instantly,” says Rielly of The RoseMary. “With it being all white inside, my #1 inspiration was just that I wanted everything to be super colorful, fun & modern. I wanted to bring the color to the venue!”
If you want to see a bunch of our favorite 2024 wedding trends to watch in action, this is the wedding for you. Rielly + Micheal’s vivid + modern day is full of them!
Thank goodness for Tracy Autem Photography’s gorgeous photos. Let’s get into it!!
“When I fell in love with it in the store originally, I had tried it on with a pair of removable balloon sleeves and instantly knew I did not want the dress without the sleeves,” Rielly. says of her dress. “One of my friends, Haedyn House, who is also a fashion designer was able to make me custom sleeves that completed the wedding look.”
Wedding dresses with puff sleeves are taking the bridal style scene by storm and are absolutely one of our fave wedding trends of 2024!!
LOVING Rielly’s long, pearl-front gold chain back wedding earrings!!! So perfect with her strapless neckline and modern silhouette.
Rielly’s crew absolutely nailed the mismatched bridal party look. “I completely let go of control & allowed them each to choose their own dresses of any material or pattern,” Rielly says. “The only requirement was that they be blue. I won’t lie, I was worried that it wouldn’t look good all together, but it turned out so perfect!”
Another one of our fave trends of 2024? Color blocking florals!! And Rielly + Micheal’s wedding is FULL of it! In these lush, varied, monochrome bridesmaid bouquets, AND in the breathtaking ceremony and reception flowers!
“I was super inspired by the pattern on my dress & once I found that, I knew I wanted to carry that pattern into our wedding day,” says Rielly. Scroll back up and see if you can spot the clever nod to the beading on Rielly’s gown that was worked into the invitations! And keep your eyes peeled—you may see it again in the reception table linens.
The First Look
Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding Our favorite memory, hands down, is our first look. We decided to read our personal vows first during our first look & this was the best decision we made. It allowed us to have our own personal moment together while also getting a lot of our nerves out of the way before reading them at the actual ceremony.
Our other favorite memory was definitely once the party started on the dance floor! Our reception band was AMAZING and definitely set the tone for the entire night. We did the conga, the limbo, dance circles, all of it. The dance floor was full from start to finish & it was the best time getting to dance & celebrate with all of our favorite people!
These cuties carried around refreshments in their little baskets for all of Rielly + Micheal’s guests. Have you ever heard of anything more adorable??
“My absolute favorite detail was how we included Micheal’s late dad in our wedding,” says Rielly. “We had a photo of him & Micheal and his old cowboy boots placed on the ceremony bench in the front row, so it felt as though he was there with us.”
Our Musical Choices Processional: "Until I Found You" by Stephen Sanchez (played by strings)
Recessional: "I'm In Love With You" by The 1975 (played by strings)
First Dance: "Lifetime" by Justin Bieber
Professor D (Jordan Kahn) kept the music coming so Rielly, Micheal, and their guests could dance the night away.
Recreate this festive metallic exit with your own set of silver streamer cannons! (Pro tip: these are great for easy post-wedding clean up!)
Congrats, Rielly + Micheal! Your vibrant, whimsical day was a perfectly splashy take on the southern wedding!! So happy for you both!
