Taryn and Steve tied the knot on 27th July 2023 at Old Marylebone Town Hall, followed by a reception at White City House,
The couple’s day was inspired by their early relationship in London and love of the Soho House aesthetic. Nestled in the heart of West London’s iconic former BBC Television Centre, White City House served as the perfect setting for their celebrations and desired ‘classic meets contemporary’ vibe.
The bride wore a contemporary bridal design by designer Carly Cushnie, which she discovered at London’s The Wedding Club – which we highly recommend all brides pay a visit to if you love fashion. She carried a contemporary bouquet of red roses and her bridesmaids looked the epitome of chic in all black.
Love and thanks to photographer Irene Yap for sharing these insanely gorgeous images. Enjoy!
Venue & Location
We wanted our venues to reflect our relationship and our style. We knew it had to be London as that’s where we met and so many of our best memories together are there, particularly at Soho House. Old Marylebone Town Hall is such a classic beautiful, London building whilst White City House has the moody, artistic aesthetic.
Bridal Beauty & Accessories
I wore a two-tiered cathedral length Veil. It was my Sister’s, and felt truly special to share something of hers.
My scent was Louis Vuitton’s ‘Les Sables Roses’. This was a very sumptuous gift from my Sister and reminds me of her. wore a pair of white pointed toe pumps with diamante ankle straps and bows from Betts.
I didn’t wear much jewelry in keeping with the minimal look. Just diamante bow earrings to match my shoes; and a diamond tennis bracelet Steve gifted me on the morning. Plus, a gold ring of my Nanna Phyllis’s so she was with me on the day.

Photography
Our photographer was Irene Yap. We wanted someone who shared our style; classic meets contemporary, nothing too posed and an editorial edge. Irene was beyond our wildest dreams. She was so organised, brilliant to spend the day with, and we couldn’t love the photos more.
Flowers
Steve’s Mum was out florist. We were so lucky to have our Mum take on the flower duties. At first, we were reluctant as we wanted her to enjoy the day but she insisted and we’re so pleased as she’s just the best.
She ordered all the fresh flowers from her suppliers in Kent, brought them up to London and arranged them the night before.
It was a special touch to have florals created by our Mum.
How They Met
It was our shared advertising passion and careers that brought us together. Taryn is from Perth Western Australia and Steve is from Kent UK. We met in 2016 when Taryn moved from Australia to London for a career opportunity. She walked into Steven’s office and he was immediately captivated.
We were engaged on Christmas Day 2019, after four years together. Both our families were on holiday together in Perth and Steve dropped to one knee and proposed over one of the most striking sunsets ever at the beach across the road from Taryn’s parents home.
We planned to get married in 2021, but COVID struck and we postponed. We moved to Australia in late 2021 and welcomed our daughter in 2022. We finally married in 2023 – 3.5 years after our engagement.
Steve wore a custom made suit by In Stitchu and a pair of Hermes cufflinks which I gifted him on the day. They featured two H’s for Mr and Mrs Hare.
Evening & Dancing
Our first dance was to ‘Time After Time’, by Sam Smith. It was in line with our theme – a classic song with a contemporary twist.
We had a Saxophonist and DJ during dinner, then added in a vocalist when the fancefloor cranked up! Entertainment was booked MOJO Club Live.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
We planned our London wedding from Australia, so blogs with recommended suppliers and reviews were absolutely critical. We couldn’t have done it without sites like Love My Dress.
If you have children, consider a nanny service for the entire day and night. We used Wedding Tots and it was the best investment we made!
Use the internet to read reviews and choose your suppliers carefully. They will make or break the day.
