Rose Gold Meets Rock N Roll for This Edgy, 80’s-Inspired Wedding Shoot

Planning

What happens when you combine all the dark + edgy grunge of an 80’s heavy metal garage band with delicate, elegant roses + pearls?

This bold, black + pink wedding shoot dreamed up by 651 Studio Floral brought together planners from The Events Paige and a team of creative Minnesota-based vendors to see what would happen if a wedding vision set out to balance light + dark and fill blank slate warehouse-style venue Woodhaven in Cannon Falls, MN with romance + edge.

There were bridal mohawks. There were soft + moody florals. There was a massive balloon backdrop that’s going to rock your world. So let’s take a peek at all of the killer photos that Vickie Olson Photography snapped along the way!

Black + Blush Invitations

Eliza Grace Paperie created this dark yet delicate invitation suite, and we are loving the metallic touch of rose gold foil!

A Rock N Roll Ceremony Setup

Design-minded wedding signs like this geometric b+w one and all of its industrial details are a great way to set the aesthetic tone for your entire day.

651 Studio Floral, the floral stylist and event designer behind this shoot’s concept, created delicate floral drama with soft pale pink roses surrounded by leafy texture in rose gold + black.

The day’s whole vision began with hair + makeup artist Michelle Dunlap Design and her idea to create a romantic bridal mohawk look.

SO into the pearl hair accents and this smokey makeup look. And those rhinestone star earrings from Shein!

Til Death do us Party!

Minne Merriments created this massive shiny + spiky balloon installation around huge white marquee letters that spell LOVE.

Is this not edgy bridal heaven?! A sheer white pearl embellished look over a black slip dress. A rhinestone embellished black mesh look over a white dress. Feathers! Leather! Clunky sole bridal boots!

How fab is this punny seating chart?? A big part of 651 Studio Floral’s vision was incorporating rough, industrial elements that might be around at a 80’s heavy metal garage band’s rehearsal. Tires. Cinderblocks. Tools. Peg boards.

Baked By Kenzi created two contrasting cakes for the shoot. A dark + moody two-tier beauty with floral accents AND a soft + romantic square edge cake with metallic gold touches.

Definitely push play on this video that Summit Hill Studios created to capture the shoot. SO many fun details to catch!

SO glad this talented team dreamed up such a hard core and delicate day! Here’s to lots more edgy + romantic wedding design!!
