A Chic Floral Wedding Dress for This Gucci Green Coastal California Wedding in Montecito

Planning

Who knew that Alyssa + Alex, two shy little kids who rarely crossed paths at their elementary school, would wind up one day planning their wedding! Years later, after reconnecting over the summers while they were both in college, the two fell in love and the rest is history.

We wanted to host a party that we would love to attend, but on a larger scale to accommodate all our friends and family,” say Alyssa + Alex of the vision for their Southern California wedding day. The result? A luxe + colorfully chic occasion (with a green and white floral wedding dress that we kinda can’t stop thinking about).

Alyssa and her mom have always adored “Gucci green,” one of the designer brand’s unique and often-used shades. When the bride + groom decided to use this color as inspiration for their wedding decor + design, all sorts of greens started working their way into the look to create a vibrant, design-forward springtime celebration.

Alyssa + Alex teamed up with planners and event designers from All You Need Is Love Events to dream up a sunny Montecito day that started with a stunning ceremony at the historic Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic church and then moved to Rosewood Miramar for a breathtaking and sophisticated seaside outdoor reception.

So glad that Jillian Rose Photography was there snapping photos along the way so we can take you inside the gorgeously green festivities!

How much do you love these green + white minimalist wedding invitations? Totally set the tone for this bright + sophisticated day.

One of my bridesmaids actually suggested that I look at Rose Assoulin’s bridal collection which happened to launch right around when I got engaged,” says Alyssa of how she first found her distinct floral wedding dress’s designer. The lime green + white daisy-embellished SKIRT! The sculptural padded straps! We can’t get enough.

“I looked and tried on a few other dresses/designers, but as soon as I received the look book from Rosie, I knew I would be getting a dress from them. We were able to customize the shape of the top and the material which made it even more special – truly a one-of-a-kind dress!”

Precious and Blooming took care of the day’s chic and stunningly simple florals. This five-stem Calla Lily bouquet is 100% elevated bridal elegance.

Every groom needs a unique pop of color! Grab some red car cufflinks like Alex did to add some auto-inspired flair to your wedding tux.

These floral towers! So lush + elegant!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

From the bride: "The most memorable moment was walking down the aisle with my dad. It felt so surreal when the church doors opened and I was surrounded by our closest friends and family. We had a beautiful ceremony said by a close friend of Alex's family which made it so special. After the ceremony, Alex and I drove off in a 1967 Porsche which was so fun and special because it was some rare time for just the two of us on our wedding day."

Our Musical Choices

Processional: The Bridal Chorus from "Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner

Recessional: "Wedding March" by Felix Mendelssohn

First Dance: "This Must Be the Place" by Naive Melody (Sure Sure cover)

The Reception

We love a good drone shot!

So fun to get a bird’s eye view of Alyssa + Alex’s unique checkered statement aisle!

“We thought an uninterrupted dinner followed by dancing in a lounge would give the feeling of a night out,” say Alyssa + Alex of their dream reception vibe. “Keeping this flow in mind, we aimed for a beautiful, formal dinner on the Rosewood lawn, followed by lounge-like dancing indoors. We wanted the lawn to feel more intimate so we installed a checkerboard aisle down the center leading to a beautiful custom bar.”

Bella Vista Designs took care of all things lighting, including those sleek black modern chandeliers.

Custom matchboxes like Alyssa + Alex’s are among the unique wedding favor ideas we love.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

From the bride: "This is easier said than done but my biggest advice would be to enjoy the planning process! I loved planning all the details with my mom and our wedding planner. There are definitely stressful moments but don't let those consume you - it will be the best day no matter what. I really miss the planning and excitement leading up to the weekend."
