A Chic + Sophisticated Wine Country Wedding

Planning

After five-plus years of dating and eight years of knowing each other, Amanda + Kyle’s chic Napa Valley winery wedding was the celebration they’d been waiting for!

“Our wedding was more like a really long overdue celebration with our closest friends & family,” says Amanda, “and I wanted to throw the most memorable party in honor of the commitment Kyle & I had already established years prior (but were finally making government official).”

Together with visionary planner and event designer Raquel from Roque Events, Amanda + Kyle dreamed up a sophisticated outdoor wedding at Four Seasons Napa Valley that was composed of baby’s breath, black + white details, a lush green accent color palette, elegant bridal silhouettes, and wondrous wine country views.

Photographer Abby Jiu took so many beautiful photos of Amanda + Kyle’s elevated wedding day, and we simply can’t wait to show them to you!

The First Look

We are obsessed with Amanda’s structured, strapless button back wedding gown. It is the definition of an elegant wedding dress. The low back detail is to-die-for!

“I found my first dress, my ceremony dress, with my mom at a store called Little White Dress Bridal Shop in Denver, CO,” remembers Amanda. “It was the very last dress I tried on and I knew immediately it was the dress I would marry Kyle in. I felt like a bride! I had a vague idea of what I wanted – strapless, simple – but I kept an open mind when we were shopping and tried on several different styles at the two bridal boutiques we visited. It was really helpful to rule out certain styles, patterns, fabrics, etc. while shopping in-store! There are so many gorgeous dresses that look beautiful on other people and/or in photos on instagram but were totally wrong for me.”

The Ceremony

Loving these lush + voluminous baby’s breath + hydrangea ceremony florals. And with the vineyard as the ceremony backdrop 😍

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

From the bride: "I don't know if it's possible to pick just one! One of the first (and easiest) decisions we made after we got engaged was who we wanted to marry us - one of our best friends and absolute favorite people in the world, Sarah. And she did not disappoint! The ceremony was perfect. Sarah interviewed each of our parents individually in preparation, which was such a special way to ensure they were included and recognized. She balanced humor, context, narrative, and emotion flawlessly. Kyle & I knew we didn't want to say our own vows during the ceremony, and Sarah surprised us by writing them on our behalf. She truly blew everyone away. Everyone laughed and cried, including us! The ceremony set the tone for the rest of the evening, which was such a blast and filled with so much love. Getting ready with my girlfriends, mom, mother-in-law & my aunt and our first dance (my dad surprised me with a live performance from an artist we both love) were also highlights from our big day! Of course, seeing how much fun all of our friends and family were having was also something we'll never forget."

Our Musical Choices

Processional: "Biblical" by Calum Scott (performed by a string quartet)

Recessional: "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles (performed by a string quartet)

First Dance: "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley - surprise live performance by Angelina Jordan!

Very into the distinguished dinner party vibe that Amanda + Kyle created with their reception setup.

The Manhattan Band from Jordan Kahn Music Company kept the live music coming so these two newlyweds could dance the night away.

Totally charmed by the simplicity + romance of Amanda + Kyle’s heart-shaped wedding cake 🤍
