Charlotte in Cortana, for her Modern, Multicultural Wedding at The Asylum Chapel

Ideas

Charlotte and Nyuito’s beautiful, multi-cultural winter wedding, was held on 9th December 2023, at the Asylum Chapel in Peckham.

The bride’s studies in ancient history, quite possibly had some influence in the couple’s choice of locations and the overall aesthetics of the day; both their ceremony and later, their reception venue at Brunswick House in Vauxhall, carry a deep sense of faded glamour. Brunswick House is full of exquisite antique decor and furnishing and provided a sublime backdrop for the couple’s evening celebrations and party.

Nyuito was especially keen to celebrate his Ghanaian heritage, and so the couple changed in to Ghanian style attire later in the day – the photographs for which you have to see, they both look amazing.

These images were captured by the ever talented and wonderful Heather of Eclection Photography, who we take great pleasure in recommending to all our readers. Enjoy darlings!

We met in London and couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else! The venues are historical and picturesque but still fresh – we didn’t want anything too traditional or fussy.

Nyuito wore a suit from Whitcomb & Shaftesbury, before later changing into traditional Ghanian wedding attire, from Gisella Boutique.

Our photographer was Heather of Eclection Photography. We came across her on Instagram and her lovely, characterful photographs, which were well composed without being too prescriptive or cliche.

We met in 2015 when I had just moved to London. We got engaged in Easter 2022 and decided we wanted a winter wedding.

The Reception

Our catering was provided by the Canababes and our cake was by Luminary Bakery, who also operate as social enterprise charity.

As gifts for our guests, we provided custom mugs from Ghana.

Evening & Dancing

In the evening, we hired DJ James H from Stylish Wedding Disco. We did a first dance to ‘Dancing On My Own’, by Robyn – it’s one of our favourites.
