When the bride + groom’s love story begins in a sculpture studio, you just know the wedding’s going to be a masterpiece.
Danielle + Jordan met at the College of Charleston—two creative souls with an overlapping interest in studio art—and fell in love while building massive sculptures there side by side.
A move to northwest Georgia to help with the development of their family’s new business—the gorgeous wedding + event venue Magnolia Creek Farms about an hour north of Atlanta—meant the start of a fresh chapter in their story and ultimately the beginning of their wedding planning journey! Full of trees, acres, vistas, and spaces they’d come to know so well, Magnolia Creek Farms was the clear venue choice when they began to dream up their own celebration.
The vision for Danielle + Jordan’s wedding day emerged from their shared love of all things creative + natural. With the help of Emerald Events, the “forest fairy vibe” took shape by way of organic decor details, a color palette full of earthy greens and romantic pale pinks, and tons of impressive DIY projects.
Danielle + Jordan’s creative takes on the beauty of nature shone through every detail of this earthy + romantic fairytale day, and Kristin Faye Photography was there capturing it all!
These beautiful, rosy wedding invitations were designed by bride Danielle—just one of the day’s super impressive DIY creations.

Also, completely enchanted by the way Danielle kept the botanical look cohesive with those leafy gold wedding earrings.
Stems Atlanta did a beautiful job of capturing an woodsy + organic feeling in the day’s florals. Loving the berries tucked into Danielle’s bridal bouquet!

Is there anything more creative + charming than a floral pocket square? We are so into this take on the traditional boutonnière because inventive + wearable groom florals like this happen to be one of our favorite trends to watch!
“I am a very nontraditional kind of girl and knew I wanted a unique dress that I felt embodied more of my personality than a plain white dress,” says Danielle. “I didn’t even bother going to any dress shops. I just looked online and stumbled across my ceremony dress and fell in love and instantly called my mom and told her I found THE ONE.”
Danielle went vintage with her bridal accessories. That wedding crown once belonged to a distant relative of hers named Mary Lynn Miller who was featured in the newspaper back in the day for her cutting edge bridal fashion, and the wedding veil was a vintage piece as well!
The Ceremony
Leave it to two sculptors to create their own unique ceremony decor. Jordan put his metalworking skills to use to build the large circular arbor that the couple adorned with roots, vines, and branches they collected throughout the property. And they took this DIY project right down to the wire—finishing touches and coats of paint were applied the morning of the wedding!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding 1. Some of Danielle and Jordan’s favorite memories of the day are having their friends and family from all over the country come together and see their vision come to life.
2. Right after the kiss at the ceremony Danielle’s brother ran behind to light a couple colored smoke bombs and accidentally lit the grass on fire and can be seen by all stomping out a small fire as they are walking back up the aisle 😂
3. After the wedding they and their closest friends also had an epic 5 hour long dance party in the venue.

Danielle + Jordan’s guests sipped colorful wedding cocktails from Across The Bar and feasted on offerings from Prestige Catering.
We can’t wait to share the story of one of our fave DIY elements of Danielle + Jordan’s day: those gorgeous gold reception table centerpiece sculptures. “We both knew we wanted our wedding to incorporate parts of the farm we have come to so intimately know,” says the couple. “Many of the trees on the property have sadly fallen victim to bark beetles and to prevent them from spreading many trees have had to be cut down.”
“Instead of letting these magnificent tree’s root balls go to waste, we took it upon ourselves to build unique table centerpieces by combining and shaping various roots, sealing them with resin, painting them gold, and then attaching tapered candle holders to each.”
Very into the way the delicate blush table top decor from The Prissy Plate Company echoed the ruffly pink + green floral vibe of Danielle’s ceremony dress.
First of all: YUM. These wedding desserts from Honeymoon Bakery look beyond delicious.
And WOW! This whimsical woodland wedding cake by Baby Cakes By Stephanie! (And don’t overlook that aquarium cake stand full of guppies!)
Why stop at one wedding cake when you can incorporate this ADORABLE mushroom moment, too!
As the night wore on, Danielle made a show-stopping shift into this cacti-covered reception dress from Temperley London.
“I initially wasn’t really planning on having a separate reception dress,” Danielle remembers, “but I came across the cactus dress online, and I grow tons of succulents/cacti in my greenhouse.”
“Jordan and I had our first dance to the song “Starlight” by Muse, and we turned the lights off and projected a starry night aurora borealis type thing on the walls and shone a spotlight on us in the center,” Danielle says. “I knew for this dance that a sparkly sequin dress would be the perfect thing and would look just like starlight as it reflected so it was perfect for that and I felt like it embodied my personal style and love of succulents perfectly.”
Our Advice To Those Planning Now 1. Start early and try not to let yourself get too overwhelmed. Your wedding is a day that is supposed to be all about you and your fiance so be yourselves and make decisions based on what is important to you and it is okay to include things in your wedding that other people think are maybe not the most ‘normal’ picks but that is what makes you you and unique!
2. Advice for finding ‘unique’ things for wedding: Pinterest is your best friend! Scrolling through Pinterest and creating moodboards helps so much with seeing what interests you and gathering your thoughts. I even found my wedding dress through pinterest just from searching phrases like ‘forest fairy whimsical wedding dress’ lol. From there, once you know those ‘key words’ it’s much easier to search online for what you're looking for. For me, I LOVE thrifting and a majority of the things for the wedding were either thrifted or handmade. Not only does doing this give your wedding a more unique look but it can also help cut down on the cost tremendously. Once you start finding specific things you love and want to get, then you can start making mood boards with those items and see your vision come to life!
Congratulations, Danielle + Jordan, on your whimsical woodland wedding day! All the best from GWS!
